County and state officials are encouraging agriculture and livestock business owners to adjust workplace protocol and behavior to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Humboldt County Agricultural Commissioner Jeffrey Dolf said Cal/OSHA and the California Department of Food and Agriculture have created specific guidance for the agriculture and livestock industry related to COVID-19.
Dolf said his office has also received an allotment of single-use N95 masks which they are distributing to local industry members for their employees. “It’s important that we all do everything we can to keep ourselves and our employees safe,” he said.
Additionally, Dolf said agricultural businesses are required to complete a COVID-19 business plan. To learn more and to fill out a plan, visit humboldtgov.org/covidreopening.
Guidelines regarding social distancing, the use of facial coverings and increased cleanliness remain the same across sectors. Specific safety recommendations for farmworkers are available at the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s website www.cdfa.ca.gov/coronavirus/#updates.
Industry-specific guidance can also be located at Cal/OSHA’s website www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/Coronavirus/.

I assume there will be a permit fee with this?
A nurse told my wife that her n95 mask was not appropriate because of the unobstructed exhale port…..so there is that…..
So who will you believe?
Those N95’s with the unobstructed port are for construction workers to protect themselves from dust/sawdust, etc while they are working. They allow the worker to exhale freely so they are not appropriate for covid19 prevention.
Some of the ones with ports have the ports filtered while some do not.
There is no cost to get certified.
Here’s the “Certified Business” list from Humboldt County. Of note, the Mateel or Southern Humboldt Community Park/Farm are not listed or have an approved plan in place with the Health Department for Humboldt County during COVID-19:

Certify what businesses are left, many restaurants are being forced out of business all in the name of “safety”. This entire Covid Closure and Registration bullshit has gone way too far, this county and state is going in the gutter and down the drain… Id rather see less people and lose some to a bunch of people than sacrifice all of our lives and livelihoods. There is an over population problem amd modern medicine tries to keep us living long after we should be dead. Been trying to catch the covid and cant even catch it. No mask for me. Id rather get it and get it over with than live in something that resembles communist china and russia. No mask, no shame. You sheeple are following a bunch of old fools to the death, why would we sacrifice our lives to save a few people when there is way too many people to begin with, Give thanks for the gift of covid to keep our population in natural balance and check!
Strange. Aren’t cannabis businesses included in this? Yet I see no mention of it here.
And then POOF! I get a notice from CalCannabis this morning about what sounds to be the same OSHA regs that are being promoted here.
Oh sure! More regulatory requirements for fledging cannabis farms. Just what they (DON’T) need! 🙁
What?????? “Fledging” LOL! If there is a cannabis farm in Humboldt that is not stacking cash right now, they need to sell the farm asap. As a matter of fact, if you know a farm that is struggling, comment back with contact info and let’s see if we can’t figure something out.
