[UPDATE 6:46 p.m.] Fire at John’s Used Cars and Wreckers North of Eureka

The first responder on the scene reported that the garage area to the rear was on fire. More engines were requested.
Reports from the nearby area indicate that a badly smelling smoke is coming from the fire.

UPDATE 5:13 p.m.: The Incident commander reported over the scanner that there are high voltage power lines in the area that could cause a large power outage if damaged.
UPDATE 5:16 p.m.: The smoke appears to be dissipating somewhat.

Rick Gary…I am so sorry yous place caught on fire. I cant believe it. Talk about serious History here in Humboldt. Just when you think things can’t get any worse. In my book anyway. I know yous will be tired of talking about this terrible time and memory and such but I am looking forward to seeing yous again and thank the good guy in the sky no one is hurt. A Men
