Escaped Debris Fire Contained Near Eel River Inmate Camp

According to Cal Fire Battalion Chief Paul Savona, “Crews arrived at scene and found a 1/4 acre vegetation fire. Crews made quick work of it.” He said the fire is now under control.

Savona said the cause is under investigation. But he added that Cal Fire would like to remind people that an adult needs to be in attendance at the scene. He noted that the person there should have tools on site to keep the fire under control and they should maintain a clearance of 10 feet around a burn pile.

Garberville Fire, Redway Fire and Cal Fire are at scene.
