The report of shots fired on West Cedar today brought two law enforcement agencies to the scene. Eureka Police called in the Humboldt County Sheriff as backup because “there’s so much happening,” according to EPD spokesperson Brittany Powell.

However, according to our reporter Bobby Kroeker on the scene, law enforcement soon determined that the incident was not as reported and unrelated to the shots fired on Union Street.  Officers from both law enforcement agencies are clearing the scene as of 1:25 p.m.
