Fatal Crash Reported on Woodman Peak Road in Mendocino County

A person was killed in a traffic collision reported shortly before 1 p.m. today on Woodman Peak Road northeast of Laytonville in Mendocino County, according to scanner traffic.

The crash was first reported around 12:57 p.m. near the intersection of Woodman Peak Road and Woodman Creek Road, roughly 400 yards east of a residence in the 4100 block however, it may have occurred some time earlier. Details are unclear. Initial radio traffic stated there was a possible fatality and later it was confirmed at 1:37 p.m.

The radio traffic stated that the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest below the road surface.
