[Update: Major Injury Collision] Motorcyclist Injured in Solo Crash Near Willow Creek This Afternoon

A motorcyclist was reportedly injured in a solo crash on Highway 299 west of Willow Creek Friday afternoon, according to information from the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m., when dispatchers received reports of a motorcycle down on Highway 299 near Downing Road. Initial callers told CHP that the rider appeared to be unconscious and injured.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified. Dispatch notes indicate the motorcycle struck a curb before coming to rest off the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved.
According to Caltrans QuickMap, eastbound traffic is severely impacted in the area, and westbound traffic is also moving slowly. Drivers are advised to use caution and expect delays when traveling through the area.
The rider’s condition has not yet been released.
