Eureka Offers Free Fun at Their ‘Get Out and Play Day’
Eureka’s largest free summer celebration returns Saturday, July 26, with the 11th annual Get Out & Play Day, offering a full day of free, family-friendly activities spread across the city.
Organized by Eureka Community Services, the event aims to bring the community together through health, movement, and fun. From early morning pickleball drills at Highland Park to a family movie screening of FernGully at Sequoia Park after dark, the day promises non-stop action.
Event highlights include:
- Free kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center
- Skateboard competition at Cooper Gulch with divisions for all ages
- Line dancing, cornhole, and live music at Carson Park
- Family Olympics and a Slip ‘n’ Slide hosted by Humboldt Bay Fire at Sequoia Park
- Free Madaket boat rides, museum tours, and access to the Discovery Museum
- Interactive activities at the Sequoia Park Zoo, with free admission for kids 12 and under (with a paying adult)
Also featured are RC car demos, bubble zones, obstacle courses, art projects, golf contests, dog park play, and more. Food trucks will be stationed throughout the city to keep participants fueled.
Participants can pick up a passport at any event location and get it stamped for a chance to win the Get Out & Play Day grand prize.
