Search Warrant at Rio Dell Property Allegedly Yields Marijuana Grow and Illegal Firearms

A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office team served a search warrant this week at a Rio Dell residence following what they said were multiple complaints from neighbors. According to Lt. Conan Moore of the HCSO, deputies with the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) searched the property located at 2510 Rio Vista Drive.

Inside, authorities reportedly discovered 257 actively growing marijuana plants and approximately 46 pounds of processed marijuana. In addition to the cannabis, deputies allegedly located eight illegal, unserialized firearms, one of which was outfitted with a bump stock—a device banned under California law that allows semi-automatic weapons to fire more rapidly.

The case has been referred to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for review. No additional details were released at this time.

Don’t forget Gavin newsome holds a majority share of the stocks for this company.

There’s a reason why Gavin was flipping out over glass house getting raided this week for human trafficking.

Thank you! The big untold story behind corporate-style “legalization” is how the Billions of dollars in the industry now flow into the pockets of the already- wealthy while the poor rural Mom n pops got driven into the dirt. I find it despicable. And really everybody else should too! I won’t forget Governor French Laundry – as ” legalization” was beginning- telling all his well-heeled friends and associates to get invested in this new profitable business. They didn’t buy farms but they invested by buying shares of corporations who then hired farmers to do the work. Obviously with lots of illegal immigrants they could pay less than legal Americans! Gavin’s big corporate profit- making machine with all his wine silver-sooon fed buddies…
The Cannabis Control Board members are appointed, not elected. And they are appointed by the Governor himself. He assured his buddies that he would act to protect their financial interests. The first thing the board did was to meet behind closed doors and in a secret vote revoke the clause in the “legalization” proposition that suggested a temporary ban on mega-farms by keeping a lid on the acreage size. Obviously done for these kinds of corporate mega-farms. Sure- all profitable business in America is eventually seized by the mega-wealthy and corrupt politicians to allow them to siphon the profits away. BUT…why do we continue to bend over and take it?!!!! WTF people! Show some backbone and true American spunk. Quit submitting to the wealthy assholes who talk pretty while sending your communities into poverty by taking all the money! 3rd World peasants is pretty much what you are….3rd World mentality

That’s a lot of words but doesn’t 1st world mentality encompass some kind of critical thinking and problem solving? I bet even those who may have struggles with some of your words understand that all money filters up. And I bet they would love to stop shopping at “x” evil giant store, if some healthy alternatives were offered that they could afford, or if they felt like ANYONE in this government cared about them. Being wired for survival, and especially without a mentor or community to help teach them, how can we blame the young’ns for supporting all the dispensaries that make this possible? 😢

They don’t deserve freedom and they should all be enslaved to toil in sweat shops- that is their future….and they are headed there willingly. Peasants. Facts matter. Gavin Newsom does not hold a majority share of the stocks in Glass House Cannabis. Public records indicate that while a co-founder of Glass House Farms, which is owned by Glass House Brands, has donated to Newsom’s campaigns, there is no evidence to suggest he has any ownership stake in the company itself.

Curious why Kym is not covering this story? Should be the main story on KymKemp right now. It’s all over national and international news sites, but isn’t even mentioned by our local news when Glass house has singlehandedly devastated our local cannabis economy? Child labor violations…an undocumented worker died after the raids…seems very strange to not be covering this.

You know this? I’d love to see proof that they were hired workers. Not that it matters for ICE anymore. Mask up (because ya some illegal alien might be a threat to the 5 of you and your semiautomatic wespons), arrest everyone who’s Hispanic, and ask questions later. I’m usually all for proof when accusations are being made. But by now, anyone who doesn’t know this is happening all around the country, is already practicing selective memory…

If they were “there with their parents”, then why was it their parents did not claim them, they were described as “unaccompanied”.

And the “threat” does not seem to be the migrants, the threat comes from those “peaceful protesters” that interfere after the raid. That is when things get dangerous.

Rather if we support or don’t support the raids, theoretically they are legal. The rock throwing, interference with the procedure, and rhetoric creating the division between us, is a sad product of party politics.

This crisis is not going to be solved through name calling, finger pointing, or party propaganda. Respect with calm and factual debate is how our legislative process was built.

Without the immigrant laborers so cherished by big capitalists and tiny democrats alike, how would head patients get their green medicine?
family oriented migrants are doing the work ameriXans don’t want to do!
lazy Americans only want to play video games!
I stand with Newsom, President of the Republic Of Californio, in allowing and encouraging international labor migration for the purposes of big buisiness and free trade.
its just who we are, from the cotton fields to the cannabis plantations.
“the only constant is spare change”
-Starhawk.
“freedom isn’t free, you have to work till your free.”- Toby Keith
it’s just a better deal to hire international labor. Even Charlie Kirk agrees,😉

You make a strong argument. I mean just think about what happened to the price of cotton after slavery ended.

We need to keep the borders open so that we have people available for our corporations to exploit. Otherwise the price of strawberries might go up.

Or cheaper meats from packing houses, cheaper venues for recreation, food prepared cheaper to take out or any of the other industries that use routinely use immigrant labor to avoid pay going rates that make the work attractive despite its nature?

Too many liberals constantly complain about greedy corporations, landlords or health care as if they did not contribute to the greed.

Warning! This morning there were several articles on the internet about workers at Safeway around Northern California authorizing a strike. This is what labor can do for itself if the alternative of illegal or H-B2 visas don’t stripe the power from them.

This seems like a decent place to drop this old article I’ve had bookmarked for years.

A cunning plan some 60 years ago that would replace the Mexican laborers with all-American teenagers. It didn’t work out like they planned. As an aside, when I was a teenager I briefly cut daffodils out on the Arcata Bottoms. Me, a 5’9″ girl and several tiny Asian ladies (they were pros, amazing). It was back-breaking for me. Anyway, i didn’t last that long, because I had to deeply bend over for hours. It’s hard fucking work (and I say that as someone who worked on fishing boats for years), the hardest I’ve ever done.

Anyway, the idea that kids “just don’t want to work” isn’t new.

https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2018/07/31/634442195/when-the-u-s-government-tried-to-replace-migrant-farmworkers-with-high-schoolers

So, if the work is “hard fucking work” why is it a good thing to use people who are most vulnerable and so have little choice but to do it? More on that point, why are high school students so unused to “hard fucking work” that they can’t do what other people actually do to earn a livelihood?

The answer to that is because it is easier and cheaper to keep using labor that has little option but has a good work ethic than it is to invest in machinery, infrastructure or development to make the work easier. Hello? It’s called exploitation. That is in no way an honorable excuse for turning a blind eye to the law to be broken..

And do you think a high school/college kid today can work, pay rent and buy food, pay for the internet their school and job demand they have…pay more taxes then you did, and get paid so so much less than you did, adjusting for inflation…and still buy a car? When the fruit and veggie harvest was over, I milked 85 cows before school and after school. My social life was limited. I went to college on the GI Bill. I received $90.00 per month so I had to also work 40 hours a week to pay rent, buy food, pay for gas and insurance and health care. It wasn’t so wonderful, but I learned that work ethic from my family along with honor and respect for others. Many of today’s parents have dropped the ball on raising children without discipline and teach them little.

It’s not that they have little option it’s that they did this work last year in Honduras.
