One Night, Five Victims: Suspected Drink Tampering at Eureka Bar
What was supposed to be a celebratory night out turned into a nightmare for four people in Eureka on April 25. What began as a 36th birthday celebration for Kimberly Donahue ended with blackouts, vomiting, and hours of confusion—symptoms the group now believes were caused by their drinks being spiked at the 707 Bar in Old Town Eureka. Later that same night, a fifth person, Ms. Hernandez, experienced similar symptoms at the same bar, despite not accepting a drink from anyone.
The stories, led by the detailed recollection of Krystyna Lewis, pieced together through text messages and phone records, shine a spotlight on a chilling problem that experts say is dangerously underreported—and often dismissed.
“We were just going to go do a shot ski, maybe have one drink, and then I was going to drop her off,” said Lewis, a longtime Humboldt County resident. She picked up the birthday girl, Donahue, around 9 p.m., then a male friend, and arrived at the 707 Bar shortly before 10 p.m.
They chatted with other patrons, recruited a fourth woman for the shot ski, and a little while later, accepted drinks offered by a couple men who the group chatted with at the bar. “I was fine, and I literally, it wasn’t 20 minutes after I finished that Corona that they bought me, that I started not feeling right,” Lewis recalled. Feeling suddenly ill and having had the drink and shot ski they planned on, the group decided to leave. One of the men that purchased drinks for the group offered to give Donahue a ride home even though she already had a ride.
The group split up—Lewis drove alone while Donahue and their male friend left with the woman they had met at the bar, planning to reconvene at Donahue’s home to continue the celebration. But according to Lewis, it would be hours before they arrived. As they left the bar, the effects of the suspected drugs began to take hold, disorienting each of them along the way.
The night that was supposed to be joyful quickly became frightening. Donahue says she blacked out completely after the group shot ski. “I pretty much don’t remember anything else at all,” she said. She was later found by Lewis, shoeless, crying, and vomiting between two parked cars.
The male friend was found lying in a stranger’s lawn, disoriented and vomiting. A phone call from the fourth woman revealed she was hysterical and unable to say where she was.
Lewis herself began experiencing blackouts while driving in search of her friends. At the time, based on the amount of alcohol she consumed, she believed she was legally sober, not yet realizing she may have been drugged. “I could have hurt someone. I could have hurt myself. I could have gone to jail–they would have ruined my life,” she said, reflecting on the danger she was in while unknowingly under the influence of something far stronger than alcohol.
All reported feeling extremely ill for days afterward, vomiting profusely.
Donahue, unable to work the next day, eventually sought treatment for dehydration and adverse reactions at the hospital. “It’s really scary. Good thing I did have Krystyna with me and a good friend because…,” she trailed off. “I don’t know, it’s really scary.”
Though Kimberly’s group had accepted drinks from men they met that night, Ms. Hernandez had not. She arrived at the bar between 12 and 12:30 a.m.—after the birthday group had left—and said her drink never left her hand. Still, she reported feeling suddenly and violently ill. “There’s no other reason somebody’s just going to drug you… there’s intention behind it, and it’s not good intention.”
She later reached out after seeing Lewis’s public post about the incident, having not said anything to anyone up until that point. The embarrassment of realizing she had been slipped something without her knowledge, she said, silenced her. “Out of five people, only one wanted to say something. That right there tells you something,” Hernandez said. “If we had no friends to take us home, we could have ended up raped, dead, or kidnapped. That’s five people for one night.”
Their symptoms—rapid onset, confusion, memory loss, and vomiting—strongly suggest drugging. Each woman emphasized that they know what drinking to excess feels like, and this wasn’t it.
Lewis attempted to report the incident to the Eureka Police Department about two weeks later, but after being placed on hold for 30 minutes, she hung up. “I just kind of gave up after that. I feel like no one cares. Like no one’s listening.”
In an interview with Redheaded Blackbelt, Police Chief Brian Stephens said that the delay was likely due to multiple emergencies at the time of the attempted report, something that can happen as dispatchers prioritize life-threatening emergencies over a non-emergent report, which is what Lewis indicated to dispatch as her call was two weeks after the incident.
Additionally, Stephens said, aside from delays, underreporting of such incidents is common. In the last year, EPD reports only one case of suspected drink spiking was reported to their department. Meanwhile, a UK DrinkAware study published in 2024 indicated that 90% of drink spiking went unreported.
“It’s always hard to tell [how prevalent it is] because you can’t put your finger on something that’s not reported. But when you look across the board at crimes where that are committed against victims who may feel ashamed, [they] may feel that they don’t want things to be public, which is definitely not where we come from,” Chief Stephens stated. He added, “If you feel that this has happened to you, please report it immediately, and that gives us more opportunities from an investigative stance to be able to find assistance for you.”
In addition to encouraging the victims in this story to reach out to the EPD’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Stephens shared a new reporting system that aims to make reporting easier–On June 2nd, the department will launch an online reporting system. Stephens believes it will improve tracking and responses to non-emergency crimes. “We’re going to get more reports. We believe we’re going to get a better understanding of what’s going on in our community.”
Though a police report was not filed, Lewis alerted 707 Bar staff of the incident the following day. Steven Bryan, the bar’s owner, confirmed he was informed shortly after the incident, reviewing security footage when he returned from a business trip. Although no clear footage emerged from cameras, he told Redheaded Blackbelt that he directed staff to bar the two men in question due to the group’s suspicions.
Bryan expressed genuine concern about drink tampering, saying he views the issue not only as a business owner but as a husband. He emphasized that the risk of someone being drugged is deeply personal to him, noting he would never want his own wife or anyone else’s loved one to be harmed. While acknowledging the difficulty of completely preventing such behavior—“They’re practically magicians, where they can just put stuff in people’s drinks,” he said—Bryan stressed his commitment to creating as safe an environment as possible for patrons.
While no staff or security system can catch everything in real time, Bryan said the 707 Bar team is trained and ready to act if drink tampering is suspected. Bartenders can hold or test a drink on request using on-site testing kits kept in the office. If a patron believes something is wrong, staff are instructed to notify police right away and guide the individual toward medical care. Bryan stressed that early action is critical, as testing becomes far less effective after even a few hours. He encouraged anyone feeling suddenly unwell or unsure to speak up immediately—whether it’s for themselves or someone else—so staff can act quickly to ensure their safety.
Of course, this issue is not limited to 707 Bar.
According to a 2023 North Coast Journal article, multiple women have spoken out about suspected druggings at other local bars.
According to the North Coast Journal article, the North Coast Rape Crisis Team (NCRCT) receives more than 20 calls each month related to drug-facilitated assault. These calls range from individuals who suspect they’ve been drugged to those seeking information about what to watch for. Executive Director Amanda LeBlanc told the NCJ that this is not a gendered issue. “It happens to men, it happens to women, people who are nonbinary, old and young. It can happen to anybody,” she said, underscoring the widespread and indiscriminate nature of the threat.
Nationally, the numbers point to a pervasive and invisible threat. A 2016 study published in Psychology of Violence found that 7.8% of U.S. college students believed they had been drugged. And in a YouGov survey in the U.K., 11% of adults reported believing they had experienced drink spiking at least once.
Men, too, are victims. A 2016 study published by the American Psychological Association found that while women were more likely to be targeted and reported more severe consequences, men accounted for 21 percent of drink spiking victims. Chief Stephens emphasize that drink spiking is not always driven by sexual intent—it can also be used as a tactic for theft, manipulation, or coercion.
Victims of drink spiking frequently face skepticism and dismissal, contributing to widespread underreporting. A 2022 BBC article cited a parliamentary investigation which found that many victims are brushed off as simply having had “one too many,” despite clear signs of drugging. The report also highlighted a common public belief that reporting to police is pointless, further discouraging individuals from coming forward.
“I didn’t even think of going [to the authorities]… I wish we could normalize being able to talk about this without the bullying that comes behind it,” Ms. Hernandez said.
How to Protect Yourself and Others:
- Never leave your drink unattended
- Don’t accept drinks from strangers unless you see them poured
- Stick with friends and watch each other’s drinks
- If something feels off, speak up. Get help immediately
If You Suspect You’ve Been Drugged:
- Get to a safe location
- Tell a trusted friend, staff member, or call 911
- Seek medical help as soon as possible and request toxicology testing
- Preserve evidence by delaying urination if possible before tests
Support Services:
- North Coast Rape Crisis Team: 24/7 Hotline – (707) 445-2881
- National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN): 1-800-656-HOPE (4673)
As festival season and graduation parties begin, Lewis hopes others will speak up and look out for one another. “I want other people to know that they should come forward, that it’s not their fault.”
And she’s not alone.
Note: This article was edited after publication to correct a misspelling of Krystyna.

Closing the bars wouldn’t hurt my feelings.
Close up the Honky Tonks…
I don’t drink. I watch too many movies where this shit happens…
How much is a drink in a bar, anyway…
I bought some beer in Kona, for family members, and it was TWENTY BUCKS for a twelve pack!
Used to get cases of Coors for $3…
I have saved about $3600/year, for nearly 40 years, just by not consuming Beer and Wine and Cigarettes… That’s about $140,000…
OH, WTF is a Shot Ski?
Try it out!
Thanks for the item, Lisa…
This shit has been going on all over humboldt. That was happening in the so hum bars 20 yrs ago. Your police don’t do anything. And if they can’t do their job we will get rid of you.
It’s a shot-ski.
Like a drink-ski.
Not two words. It’s a round of shots for the group … Have a little shot-ski to get the party started.
I would think Lisa knows the vernacular, maybe not.
Listen grammar ski, I don’t think we’re all that concerned about the vernacular rather than people being drugged.
“OH, WTF is a Shot Ski?”
It’s where they glue shot glasses to a ski board. Then they all lift the board and drink together.
Drinking games are the stupidest thing ever conceived by idiots.
I did not know that…
I think Ernie is having some fun with it…
Just ignore him…
I don’t think I ever had a shot of anything…
I never got liquor, because it gets you drunk to the roots of your hair, which I found to be uncomfortable…
My mom always had a Screwdriver going, and once I tried them… Maybe too many… Vodka is for scientists… Ya ya, it’s pure Ethanol!
Alcohol is for people who have time to recover, or who just stay drunk all the time… Like I always say, Alcohol is a good drug for children…
I had all my alcohol early, so since I had already drank it all, I had to quit…
Like Raymond Chandler said, “It takes about 5 years to give it up”… and I say: “It’s worth not drinking that shit”…
It’s bad for you…
A Google image search proves Ernie correct
Mother’s little helper…..oh wait, that was heroin.
Wrong. Mother’s Little Helper was Valium. I know. I grew up in the era.
No. It was PRELUDIN, which should still be legal…
Maybe. I’ve also won a fair amount of money on sucker bets (or winning it back on stupid jokes and pranks). If you think that’s bad, don’t ever attend a frat party at a large university. Animal House could be a documentary of some.
Mr. Branscomb, you are correct: I currently live in MT, where all the bars have them. The shot glasses are actually held in by rubber so you can get them out to wash them.
You don’t drink yet you have an opinion about other people’s past time lol
Just an observation but after watching liberals in their natural habitat for over thirty years there is one constant if a liberal does not participate in a past time they will demand that no one else does either fact
Hyperbole much?
Close all the bars and they’ll find somewhere else to drug people. That desire doesn’t disappear if the venue does.
Sara is 100% correct. This happens everywhere. I don’t have much time for a carefully thought out post, so I’ll be quick. This is a horrible thing to do to someone and is an absolutely disgusting crime. It’s as bad as any other MO for a rapist and in some ways worse. Punishment should be as severe as possible, always. Perpetrators are unlikely to be rehabilitated, but they will blend in and victimize again and again. I spoke to a trusted SoHum local who is a current CPH student. It is a serious problem in Humboldt County, today. Many of these creeps will have video evidence if they can be investigated. Raise your children (especially girls) to be aware of this and (especially boys) to not do this.
I’m sure bars are not the only place this happens. How often is this unaccounted for at Music festivals?
It’s accounted for at music festivals, we have whole teams of people to deal with it. In fact that’s what rock med is for.
bring back prohibition, all the weed farmers can become bootleggers, it’s not that different a skillset, and it has a nicer aesthetic.
Dont get trumped.
Oh Jim, always contributing in the most helpful ways. You sir are making a difference!
And I believe this is called Attempted Murder…
2 mg of Fentanyl might well kill you…
Correct, attempted murder. Isn’t the bar responsible for the safety of it’s patrons?
You are welcome to file suit and attempt to manipulate the legal system, just like any citizen, to the ultimate level of your ability to afford to pay attorneys…
“7.8% of u.s.students and 11% of u.k. adults believed they had been drugged “…..Lots of people believe lots of things which mean absolutely nothing.
Has it happened to you? If it had, you might be less flippant.
So many stories about these degenerates who do this…I do remember when Arcata had A LOT of this happening. The cops actually caught one of the guys in his van w a woman who had no idea how she got into his van. Then Gallegos decided to drop charges completely. Gallegos- that was the worst DA we ever had. Oh but he let everybody grow lots of weed and he surfed so people thought he was great? Yes- people vote stupidly.
I think there should be a serious effort to trap and catch these assholes and then there should be very serious penalties. Very. At this point we allow them to operate their raping like a little game for them.Hint- it is often the bartender who is involved…
rant
Yes- a justified rant w facts to back it up. I think that makes it a “concerned statement” or perhaps even an “angry declaration”? What do you know or think about guys drugging drinks to kidnap women, Bill? Honestly- what do you think of the issue ( not my comment but the actual issue in this article)? Just let them do it?
One woman reported it to the bar the next day — the bar had video of the suspects but didn’t contact the cops — so it’s hard to believe the bar takes this seriously.
The bars do not. I would hope just a few of those protestors w so much time to affect nothing at the courthouse could protest in front of 707 and shame them. I bet you’d see other bars notice and tighten up security….
My drink got spiked at a bar in Garberville 25 years ago. i was sick for two days. Luckily I had friends who got me somewhere safe. I stopped going to bars. I stopped drinking. Women are NOT SAFE in bars, at all. Party at home, with friends, save money. Save your life.
I am sorry that happened to you and I’m glad you got out of it okay. Scary.
It’s not just women who are at risk. I know a man who had some new-found “friends” in a bar spike his drink with God knows what kind of LSD/MDMA/XYZ combination of rave drugs. For a prank.
He ended up in a psych ward. He was never the same.
Don’t drink with strangers. Stay out of seedy bars. And never drink alone at a bar (not such a great idea at home, either).
A perfect illustration of why, in my personal opinion, drugging someone, without their knowledge or consent, with malicious aforethought, should be considered to be no less than a capital offense, and it should be legally prosecuted, swiftly and accordingly, to the fullest extent that such a law would allow…
I’ll second that!
I’ll add a piece of advice. NEVER GO TO A FRAT HOUSE. Not every frat bro is a date rapist, but as a group they are sketchy enough that women would be much safer if they simply steer clear of all things frat. Frat culture is toxic.
Wild to put someone on hold for 30 plus min and mention how people don’t report these crimes. Hmmm I wonder why they don’t report them
FYI- The new date rape drug is K
Watch out if you’re doing K with strangers or without a sober friend. Way too common to hear of people assaulted while on this drug. Stay safe and if you make a plan to go out with friends ALWAYS include the plans to get home and stick with them. Rapists hide in plain sight.
Wow. Long article for people who like to get drunk in public with strangers. “Let that be a lesson to you” doesn’t apply. Party folk don’t learn. Zero proof of crime, intent, motive, etc. Just endless verbiage. BAD men, victimized women. Typical leftist screed.
Alcohol is a:
1. Neurotoxin
2. Depressant
Anyone choosing to consume it has decided to take a gamble with their health. The article doesn’t indicate that the four alcohol consumers are much or at all aware of this fact. Nobody guarantees your safety and well being, ever.
Idiotic comment- these people were drugged. Don’t blame the victims.
If this were my bar, I’d shut it down until I could guarantee spike-free drinks. Great article and thanks.
No one is safe from these predators. It is a crime to spike someone’s drink no matter where it is done and no matter the gender or age of the victim. So far, commenters here have correctly pointed out that victims of this crime are disoriented for hours afterward. Let me point out that the victims of this heinous crime are also in many cases affected with altered perceptive abilities and a devastating loss of self-esteem for months or years afterward.
This happened to me years ago at the pearl lounge and woke up in jail for disturbing the peace I wonder if there’s a connection with bar tenders
There are predatory bar tenders.Believe it. Until this gets taken seriously- very seriously- it will continue.
A woman friend was drugged at a bar in Ferndale a couple years back. By the bartender. She blacked out. His friend hustled her into a van and drove her away down Wildcat Road. To where? For what? It’s disgusting to imagine. She came to, screamed to stop the van, guy kept driving, she kicked open the door and jumped out. Reported to the sheriff- who did absolutely zero. I know this woman well and this is a true story. WTF Humboldt?!! You allow predators to roam free to drug, kidnap and rape women. Yes. You do…..
It is good that those two men have been barred from the 707, but not enough. Their photographs should be taken and given to the owners and management of every bar, lounge, or pub in Humboldt County.
I’d very much like to know who this is…accused, not found guilty. But worthy of further observation and investigation for sure. Or do we just continue to let this disgusting predatory behavior to slide?
I understand the frustration and fear around this kind of behavior—no one wants to see a serious allegation ignored. But it’s also important to be clear about what’s been established. In this case, there’s no evidence that the men actually tampered with drinks, yet they were still 86’d from the bar on suspicion. That was the bar owner’s choice, and he took it seriously.
As for taking and circulating photos of people who haven’t been charged with a crime, that’s a slippery slope. We can demand better systems for responding when someone reports being drugged and still uphold the principle that people shouldn’t be treated as guilty without proof.
This is not treated seriously enough. It is assault, and suspects should be blacklisted from ALL local bars, and police should be working with bars immediately when this is reported or suspected.
If someone had T1 diabetes, or another underlying health condition, they could die from being drugged. As one of the women said, she was driving, not realizing she was drugged. It could have ended in tragedy.
I do not understand why this dangerous, predatory behavior is treated like a minor problem. Law enforcement, local bars and liquor license issuers need to do better, BEFORE another assault occurs. I’m grateful to these victims for speaking up.
To be clear, there was no evidence that the men had tampered with the drinks and yet he still 86’d them just on suspicion.
To be clear…it very much sounds like they may have had something to do with it from this article. Please stop mansplaining away and making excuses…
Pointing out the lack of confirmed evidence isn’t “mansplaining” or “making excuses”—it’s responsible journalism. Accusations this serious deserve to be taken seriously and handled with care. That includes not publicly declaring guilt without proof. I support efforts to protect patrons, encourage law enforcement cooperation, and spotlight victims’ voices—but I also believe in fairness and accuracy. Both matter.
The headline, in fact, reads…
‘…SUSPECTED DRINK TAMPERING IN EUREKA BAR’…

So, wouldn’t some government regulation be called for due to these sicknesses…???
Whether it be the Heath Department, the FDA, the ATF, the CDC, or even Local Law Enforcement, there is due cause for some government regulation here, don’t you think…???
To be fair,
I’ve been dosed in a bar, (X???), but it didn’t make me sick, or lose consciousness, or memory…
Assuming, momentarily, that no foul play took place at 707 Bar…
From my personal experience, what has made me the absolute sickest, from just one tap beer, in a local bar, was the fact that the soapy beer glass was not properly rinsed and dried, after being washed in soapy dishwater, prior to it being filled and served to me…
The industrial dish soap residue that I ended up being served, and then inadvertently consuming, as a result, made me violently ill…
I remember seeing the wet soapy glass being filled from the beer tap…
Unfortunately, my thirst prevailed over my common sense, and I drank the glass of beer, anyway…
I deduced and realized, too late, only after puking my guts out for an uncomfortably extended period of hours, just after consuming just that one tap beer, that the inadequate glass washing method that I had previously witnessed, was the more than likely culprit…
How exactly the “shot ski glasses”, attached to the “shot ski”, would have been washed, rinsed, and dried, may have presented a challenge, that could have improperly left some residual industrial dish soap within all the shot glasses that resulted in sickness, disorientation, etc…
But, no matter the cause of the sicknesses, an investigation is warranted…
Even if the sicknesses came from lack of proper sanitation, by something as careless and unintentional as inadequately rinsed and dried drinking glasses, government regulation, as you have previously supported for the regulation of food and drink, in the interest of public safety, should be immediately brought into play, in order to properly and promptly prevent a recurrence…
That matters, too…
The establishment 86ing a couple of customers, isn’t going to result in better washed, rinsed and dried glasses, for example…
Even if the 707 Bar uses a mechanical dishwasher, something tells me the shot ski doesn’t go through it, and those glasses are washed, rinsed, and dried by hand, however well…
That’s giving the establishment, it’s servers, and it’s patrons, the benefit of the doubt, as far as intentionally tampering with the drinks…
Negligence, as far as proper sanitation, rinsing and drying, could also be at play…
That would be very easy to confirm, or refute, just by the casual observation of how properly the 707 Bar, and or any other bar, cleans and dries their drinking glasses, especially when they are very busy…
Food for thought…
So the owner has the two men on camera. Instructs staff not to allow them back in establishment. Staff knows what they look like or know personally. Doesn’t call police with footage. These men are allowed to keep putting lives at risk. Avoid 707 bar altogether. Should be on the side of making all bars safer and bringing charges against these two individuals. Have heard rumors that a few bartenders engage in spiking drinks. Not saying 707. Makes me wonder if the culprits are friends of the bartenders and wait for the right time to pounce. The 707 footage could send a strong message through prosecution and conviction that spiking will not be tolerated. At the end of the day, all bout profit.
Good idea…. I’ll let my friends know so we won’t be going there again.
To be clear, there was no evidence that the men had tampered with the drinks and yet he still 86’d them just on suspicion.
I wonder if the two men were any of these 12 men…???
Might be worth a check…???
12 PEOPLE ARRESTED AFTER 10-MONTH INVESTIGATION INTO DRUG SALES AT TWO ARCATA BARSWednesday, 18 April 2018, 2:34 pm
https://kymkemp.com/2018/04/18/12-people-arrested-after-10-month-investigation-into-drug-sales-at-two-arcata-bars/
Arcata, CA, Tuesday – The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), in partnership with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force and Arcata Police Department (APD), have arrested 12 individuals in connection with a ten-month long investigation of activities surrounding two ABC licensed premises in Arcata.
During the investigation, undercover ABC Agents were able to purchase illegal drugs with assistance from bar employees and bar patrons on multiple occasions. Agents confiscated cocaine, methamphetamine, LSD, ecstasy and a “psychedelic” schedule one narcotic known as DMT or Dimethyltryptamine. The methamphetamine is known as MDMA or methylenedioxy/methamphetamine.
Someone should maybe ask the possible victims if any of these previously arrested folks were also possibly in the bar that night…

💯
This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. He went to the Blue Lake casino to buy some George Clinton tickets for an up coming show. While he was there around 2pm they had a band playing so my friend decided to get a drink and stick around for a while. He was stupid enough to jokingly say to the bar tender when he ordered his drink, “roofie me”. He got his drink and the next thing he knew he woke up back at his apartment in Arcata around 8pm not knowing how he got home or who brought him there! He got a ride back to the casino and his Toyota pickup was still in the parking lot. Strange day indeed. Didn’t seem to be missing any possessions, still had his keys and wallet. Didn’t gets sick just blacked out for 4-5 hours.
If,
“..the 707 Bar team is trained and ready to act if drink tampering is suspected. Bartenders can hold or test a drink on request using on-site testing kits kept in the office. If a patron believes something is wrong, staff are instructed to notify police right away and guide the individual toward medical care.”
Then, why, after,
“…Lewis alerted 707 Bar staff of the incident the following day.”, did “staff” , not “notify police right away and guide the individual toward medical care.”, as the were ” trained”, and “instructed” to do, like they were supposed to…???
Does “the following day” mean the day after the incident, or the day after her unsuccessful report to the EPD …???
How much information did the EPD dispatcher gather, before putting her on hold for 30 minutes…
Did the dispatcher know it was a suspected spiked drink report…???
How did she know it was a non emergency…???
Is a spiked drink report really a non emergency…???
Seems like it could be considered a medical emergency to me, and even a criminal emergency…
It allegedly happened again to an additional person, at the same bar, after the initial 4 patrons had already left…
That means a serial predator may have been on the loose in the establishment…
That merits an immediate response in my book…
I understand the delay in reporting would have prevented an immediate response, but the delay in reporting does not rule out a follow up investigation, and or a future “sting” operation…
It seems a bit callous and dismissive of LE to suggest that online reporting of such an incident, in the future, is what is the appropriate reporting mechanism if one thinks one has been drugged against one’s will, potentially by a predator with malicious intent, in a public drinking establishment…
How is it not considered an emergency, if such a crime has been allegedly committed, and is potentially ongoing…???
Is such a thing considered legally acceptable…???
I should hope not…
It definitely warrants a thorough investigation…
The thing that struck me odd is the fact that the last person to experience this was the lady who said she arrived after the other four people left. She mentions that she has one drink that NEVER left her hand… My thought is that the two suspected men who have been banned are innocent. Check your bartenders 707! ✅
Good story, Lisa. I recall reading the LCO story and was glad to see it referenced here.
Why on earth were those people driving after not only drinking (any amount), but they already said they felt the drug before they left the bar?
People should not drive if they are drinking. Period. Even if there is a legal limit. It is irresponsible and stupid.
It sounds like the bar tenders need to be questioned by police.
Not only because they seem culpable in the drug matter, but also for letting these people drive.
Some of those drugs are slow acting and people may just think they’re drunk more than some other night out. An hour later the drugs really take hold, and the alcohol just makes sure they stay incapacitated for a while, even if they were aware of a sexual assault on them. Their symptoms are similar but they note nausea and vomiting, that if not just too much alcohol makes me think GHB spiking, . That, a lot of the benzodiazepines like Xanax and drugs like Rohypnol are popular because they’re fairly easy to obtain beyond an Rx, or even with one and dissolve in a drink fairly quickly. I wonder if the 707 had any instant-test kits available to customers.
Kim , well said. I was accusing before hearing all the evidence. Two men buy drinks. Everybody gets sick. Could be bartenders or bar backs/waitress’ besides the two men. Would think cameras could clear the two men but now 86ed. Must be some evidence?
It’s heinous
the intent is to incapacitate the target
render you unconscious and out of any control or outcome
it’s temporarily removing you from life so that the the perpetrator can control you and make descensions about your body your life your health and your future
and not one single tiny fragment is with positive intention
none
the absolute garuntee is that your fugitive is being taken and chosen with ill will and harmful intent
these predators and perpetrators
are monsters
there care nothing about humanity or your life
they are insidious
they mingle and they hunt
for your future has value to them and does nothing for you except deplete it
they are deplorable
don’t drink in open spaces with strangers
don’t allow any possible vulnerability
they are opportunist
they will hide if we let them
please report
please be safe
your future depends on it
I can’t stand that bar. Bartender was awful the first and only time that I went there. But how, how can people still be so naive in bars…still?!
I had some spiked punch once. Because I’m fairly use to alternative states I was able to spend the night laughing hysterically. I rode my skateboard to the highway and hitched back to my uncles place on wilder ridge road. Good times.Great memories here in memoryial day.
I couldn’t get thru reading this bc u put shot “ski” , thru the entire thing.
