Press release from the County of Humboldt:humboldt county seal

The County of Humboldt’s Economic Development Division will host the third-annual Partnering for Ocean, Wind and Energy Renewables in California (POWER CA) conference May 7-8.

Thanks to the event’s generous sponsors and partners, registration is now being offered at no cost to attendees in a new, streamlined two-day format.

All interested community members and businesses are invited to attend. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged to ensure a spot.

Event Details

POWER CA 2025 will bring together global investors, state leaders, local innovators and community partners to explore the future of clean energy in California.

The event will be held May 7–8 at the Bear River Tish-Non Community Center in Loleta, highlighting Humboldt County’s leadership in offshore wind, solar, hydrogen and sustainable infrastructure.

POWER CA partners include a range of local, state and industry leaders, such as: the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, the Senior State Advisor for Offshore Wind California, Redwood Coast Energy Authority, Humboldt Transit Authority, Schatz Energy Research Center, Humboldt Bay Harbor District, Vineyard Wind, Blue Lake Rancheria, Humboldt County Office of Education, College of the Redwoods and Cal Poly Humboldt.

To keep the event accessible and focused, POWER CA has been streamlined into a two-day format. As part of these changes, the previously scheduled “STEAM the Streets” keynote has been removed and meals will not be provided. Attendees are encouraged to explore the many local dining options in the Eel River Valley.

While the event has been streamlined, POWER CA 2025 will continue to feature a dynamic lineup of interactive and informative sessions covering:

  • Renewable energy advancements in the offshore wind, solar and hydrogen energy sectors.
  • Building sustainable energy into the future through policy, investment and energy transition strategies.
  • Case study presentations on successful renewable energy projects in rural communities.
  • Investment opportunities providing exclusive insights into California’s renewable energy funding.
  • Discussions led by thoughtful leaders on shaping the future of renewable energy and pathways leading to net-zero goals.
  • Community-guided site visits.

POWER CA is an official SelectUSA spinoff event focused on renewable energy, one of only 16 across the U.S.

The event serves as the perfect opportunity to connect with renewable energy industry pioneers, engage in insightful discussions, network and dive into the future of sustainable energy.

Offshore bird shredders and Cetacean killers out of Humboldt Now! We will not allow Humboldt Bay to be turned into a toxic industrial dump buttressed by the Democrats fake man caused climate change scheme for power and control over the citizenry. Take your inner Gollum and shove it where the sun don’t shine! Unions from Cementland can go find another country to siphon off the Benjamin’s from the locals. PS, how much carbon will be expelled into the atmosphere from this conference? Were carbon offsets purchased to offset this excess? This is important information needed to document the impacts of this conference on climate with attendees utilizing fossil fuel to come here from far away places. Ever heard of ZOOM? Zoom seemed to work just fine for conferences during the man caused Wuhan fiasco, didn’t it. See how it can be turned right back around on these people….and they don’t like it one bit……good……..cause this whole scheme is a money grab at the expense of our rural community, wildlife, and ocean. PSS, Zero point energy is the future. A future which puts all the sponsors of this out of business permanently, and puts free energy in the hands of everyone. And they will do everything they can to never let that happen, because Gollum.

You’re so concerned about birds better concentrate on the domestic cat which kills orders of magnitude more than windmills. Hypocrite.

And whales too cuz !! ?But, the writer didn’t express having a cat.
It’s sad because this is not a green solution. Its a bold lie to sneak into a defenseless county and destroy the little remaining nature for electrical greed.
FYI they are still burning endless diesel gas on the endless bay trail.. At least the locals are working it though. It’s a shame that it couldn’t be a better transit for (most of) the commuters on the highway part.
As Bob would say, ” They have more money than god. ”
This county is screwed.
