I reiterate; California touts itself as the fifth largest economy in the world, and it’s begging and whining. Something is really really wrong.
I’m of the opinion that the left is what’s wrong. I mean; They run the joint. Right?!

Newsom and cohorts gave $25,000,000,000 to the bumz. ($25 billion, 5 years)
Then the bumz increased. Nobody really knows were the money went.

Newsom and cohorts gave $22,000,000,000 to the illegal aliens. ($22 billion, 5 years).
(Currently… $8.5 billion a year for ‘medical’ expenses.)
Then the illegal aliens increased.

Newsom and cohorts gave $3,300,000 to ‘rehabbing’ Cannibal Island.

Rio Dell: Yeah… go figure.
On the county level too! Tax money disappears into pockets but Rio Dell gets no love. I’ve spent some time there. Good working class folks in Rio Dell, very friendly and self-reliant…could use a hand up don’t want a handout

I live in Rio Dell. Our house got about $30,000 in damage. I had to get an SBA loan to cover the costs of repair. Now I have monthly payments on this loan. I know there are some people in our little town that are struggling to find the help. Super sad situation for many people.

This is a good reminder to buy earthquake insurance.
It is offered at a good price through the State.
Check out California Fair Plan.
i just renewed mine. Just over $200 annually.
Normal home insurance does not regularly include earthquake coverage. Getting this supplement is a peace of mind.
… On the Rio Del situation…
I can comprehend the city seeking funds for infrastructure damaged by the earthquake. Water systems, power grid, etc, but, individuals seeking restitution for private homes seems a stretch.
In hurricane prone areas, I know that FEMA helps out with temporary trailers, for housing, but I’ve never heard of the government rebuilding anyone’s homes.
I’m not sure what the essence of the cartoon is supposed to say.
My neighbor’s house burned to the ground not long ago.
I don’t think he had fire insurance.
I haven’t seen any activity on his land. Maybe he will sell it.
I would think it would be the same for earthquake damage. It is probably the responsibility of the owner rather than the government.

Darnit… I forgot he $36,000,000,000 ($36 billion) spent on the ‘railroad to no-where’.
