I’ve been there. I’ve had the whole mountainside come down directly in front of me as I was crossing the bluffs. I barely avoided it and had to back up and turn around and I was almost hit more than once as I was backing and flipping around. Some trucks just blew over it but I couldn’t. After I backed up and turned around no one could. So dangerous!
Yeah I tore a truck apart there one night the tree had slid down in the opposite lane. Caught the top of the tree with the drivers post, and lumber rack peeling the bed off my truck.
Nice flare Lisa! The slide reminds me of the toe-tapping mountains in the opening scene animation of The Grateful Dead Movie!
Yes! And the article’s title can be sung to the Doors tune Blood in the Streets in the Town of New Haven! There’s something going on!
mere coincidence. no relation meant or implied here.
Crap!
roll a joint and head back to the patch!
You would be surprised. There was a guy that went to Stanford law, I worked for a dude that had a mechanical engineering degree. Woody Harrelson peddled thru town one day. He b was shorter then I expected.
That bluff has been a problem for years and is dangerous. Small to large pieces can come down with little or no warning and if you are in that spot chances are you will be hit or killed. From the bluff edge across the highway is not too wide. Caltrans can clean small areas along the bluffs to catch small rocks, but that is about it. The possibility of your vehicle being hit and push across the road and over the bank to the river scares the hell out of me. The road should be closed and use the freeway as a short bypass to get to Redway and the buildings up the hill around the DMV office.
It is a County road not a Caltrans road.
Kym, the only workers that I see most of the time are Caltrans. It is also the old Highway 101. I was not aware that it has become a county road. If I had known that I would have left out Caltrans. Thank you for the update. Appreciated!
There’s a caltrans yard by Renner is why you see them.or used to be
Thanks for the info. Appreciated!
