Authorities served multiple search warrants on illegal marijuana grows along Maxwell Creek Road Summit Creek Road northeast of Hayfork in central Trinity County today. Sheriff Tim Saxon of the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) confirmed the enforcement action, explaining that it followed a period of surveillance and investigation.

TCSO was serving “criminal search warrants today as the result of some surveillance we have been doing,” Saxon said. He noted that investigations revealed all the properties involved were unlicensed “in both state or county.” While he did not have the exact count of warrants served, he stated that there were “more than six locations.”

The operation involved personnel from the TCSO, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), the California Department of Cannabis Control, and Trinity County Health and Hazmat team members. Saxon also confirmed the presence of a skid steer at the scene.

Who the heck told you that? You must have had a very troubled upbringing. That’s very sad. I do understand a bit more about why it seems so many comments you make are not about having a conversation but probably rooted in the distrust you feel for those who lied to you before. I forgive you

We have all been lied to by leftist propagandists our whole lives, and thus are all victims. Not victims like the 150,000,000 citizens murdered by their own leftist governments in the 20th century, but social and economic victims whose quality of life has been stolen by a failed ideology. As a radical leftists you should be begging for forgiveness, not granting it to those you have abused…

I miss the old days of black market grows in Humboldt and Kauai. And yes, they did have helos flying around in Hawaii also. But what a rush.

History has a way of informing the present. Consider the history of alcohol prohibition and it’s wind-down. As with the rest of the prohibition story it has mirrored the experience of cannabis prohibition on the west coast. In the 30’s seems like the wind-down of the effects took most of a decade. I’d bet we will see the same with cannabis

check your history of when, where, and who was most affected by the laws when pot was originally banned, much like the opium/asian/san fran. situation. interesting sociologically.

These raids are funded by the permit fees and taxes paid by the permitted farms and dispensaries. Every bag bought at a dispensary contributes to busting these unpermitted grows. But we’re not supposed to talk about this in polite conversation…

Yes the good ol days before legalization when there wasn’t any funding to conduct raids!

Different funding then. I remember it all from a solo county fixed wing to state agents to CAMP Hueys and federal use of National Guard…The “legalization”proposition was hard- wired for permit fees to be used for eradication. People rushing for permits ignored this inconvenient truth and still wish to ignore and deny, distort and mislead what they themselves help fund. It’s astonishing really their selective perspective about their “goodness” and such…..and they always get pissed at me when I speak out on these facts. So it’s kinda funny!….

Your argument holds no merit, Legal Cannabis operations are very costly with inspection. Black market Grows infringe on Legal Farms place in the Market, too often with Environmental degradation. Grow 6, create a healthy biome while not interfering in Legal Commerce. Black market Cannabis lowers the price for the compliant Gardener.

The fact that most of the so-called compliant gardeners sell boxes to the black market out their backdoors makes your logic seem faulty to me.

But why would one want to get a permit to grow only from whatever constrained list of strains and varieties that have been selected in an effort to have a genetically controlled market. Can’t help but fear the way cannabis is being integrated into agriculture industry as its shaping shares eerily similar hallmarks of the selfish and corrupt companies our nation’s agriculture sector is greedily controlled by. Truly hope the goal and outcome will be profit for the people instead of profit over people as this industry forms and bares decisions, this is what we all should hope for right? If there is more or this isn’t for whatever reason please share!

Cannabis taxes and permit fees generally go into the various county and city general funds and then the municipalities do what they want with them (which is, disproportionately, fund policing in general).

Considering that Trinity county has little to no permitted cannabis activity it’s not likely that the TCSO is receiving much funding from permitted cannabis activity.

There are hundreds of permitted grows in Trinity county paying millions annually. The county manages to squander most of it, but there is obviously enough left to conduct raids on those unable to pay their overseers.

Oh, and the state funds have primarily gone to the self feeding regulatory agencies. A bureaucracy that pays for bureaucracy. The second tier of funding has gone to youth drug prevention programs and the cannabis equity grant program.

You have a story that fees and taxes fund enforcement. There’s not any evidence for it, but you keep repeating it.

No one should go to jail for just having or doing any substance for the most part. The war on drugs is a war on healing the ill and safety for the vulnerable. Confinement is ostracizing while acceptance is knowledge and knowing is wise when we regulate and enforce for a safer and healthier existence.
