Ah yes the battle of Puebla.
What does it mean to be a Mexican on Wiyot ancestral territory then?
help me understand, I’m just a ignorant white oppressor.
inform me, if Mexicans are ‘indigenous people wherever they may be’, does that mean we are all Indian?
doesn’t the pro migrant(nation of colonizers)logic of the democrat left contradict the land back decolonization movement of the radical left?
love the food, forget the politics.
happy cinco de mayo.

Do you ever make a comment NOT tinged with racism? This is an announcement about a holiday celebration.

A holiday that’s celebrates Mexico’s victory against the French that is..
I ‘twas responding to what was referenced at the end of the announcement.
They take their usual potshot against the colonizers, that’s the only reason I commented.
I understand that you benefit from this pushback against European migrants of the past, and the conniving white bodies of today.
that’s fair.
I don’t begrudge anybody for resenting america, or the European cultures who disproportionately founded this empire.
Similarly to you calling me out according to your sociological instructions, I’m merely doing the same, but from the other shore, from another perception.
And isn’t that what’s great about diversity after all.
Cultural truth.
Happy Cinco de Mayo regardless of identity.

And what were the French doing in Mexico? Would Anglos be upset when the Japanese invaded Hawaii? Do we recognize December 7th? And what about the Pilgrims’ invading Natives on the East Coast of the New World? “Let’s not forget Columbus. Didn’t he spread the diversity of disease/culture? “And isn’t that what’s great about diversity?” A bunch of DO Gooders……………. just looking for PROFITS.

There’s nothing more sensitive than the Americanus Whitemanicis. I’m sure this person is upset about potentially changing the name of Ft. Bragg, all the while participating in the cancel culture that renamed it from its original inhabitants in the first place.

Bummer. Los Giles is a great and delicious food truck- one of the very best! And I love the Mexican culture for many things- I’m appreciative of their presence here, However I can’t support anything Centro del Pueblo is a big part in because they constantly push for more rights for ILLEGAL immigrants. Yes- most of us are from immigrant families but our parents or grandparents entered the country legally and were happy to become Americans while keeping some cultural pride and customs. The ILLEGAL immigrants stampeding across our border who then demand rights and social services is not cool at all. I love Mexican culture and Mexican people but I cannot celebrate in solidarity with ILLEGAL border jumpers…

And yet we allowed the Italians, Irish, Polish, Asians from many countries. And who can forget the millions of people of color. All came here illegally. Even the latter group were brought in by friends and they protested becoming citizens. They were all “ILLEGAL border jumpers”.
