[Update: S Street Blocked] Rollover Collision on S Street in Eureka

Traffic Collision not paid forNorthbound S Street in Eureka is blocked after a roll-over traffic collision occurred near Buhne and S Street around 8:45 a.m. on December 6.

First responders at the scene report that a grey Kia has major damage resulting in the need for a flatbed tow truck. Fortunately, the injuries to the occupant are stated to be minor.

A PG&E guidewire was damaged during the collision, PG&E has been notified.

Traffic in the surrounding area is backing up, please avoid the area if possible.

Update 9:09 a.m.: Our reporter Ryan Hutson is on scene reporting that S street is closed between Buhne and Hayes Street.

Looks like the Kia held up pretty well. Sure glad no one was hurt. Early morning, wet roads, and maybe folks not paying attention to their driving. Thank you to all the first responders. Your work never seems to end.

Having a rollover at low speeds usually involves another car doing a side impact on the rollover car. Dunno if one was involved in this accident though.
City hasn’t put the instant car-rollover curbs in that intersection (yet anyway).

That’s my hood and we’ve had a fatal there. Greenlight doesn’t guarantee anything. Look both ways before proceeding.
