High Five Tries to Evade Arrest in Garberville Parking Lot, Says HCSO

Drugs and scaleThis is a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Jacob Silverman AKA: High Five

Jacob Silverman AKA: High Five

For the past few weeks the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) has been conducting an investigation into Jacob Silverman AKA: High Five (46 years old from Ukiah) for trafficking fentanyl into Humboldt County and selling fentanyl out of Garberville area hotels. Agents had information that Silverman uses follow cars with co-conspirators to carry his drugs. Silverman had two active felony warrants for his arrest out of Mendocino County for 2800.2 VC (felony evading) and 12022 PC (armed with a firearm during commission of a felony).

In the early morning hours of Friday April 22nd, 2022 HCDTF Agents observed Silverman drive into Humboldt County. Agents observed a second vehicle was following Silverman closely and it appeared to be working in tandem with him. Agents followed both vehicles until they stopped in the back driveway of a hotel in the 700 block of Redwood Dr. in Garberville.

Maxwell Elliot

Maxwell Elliot

Agents quickly identified Humboldt County resident Maxwell Elliot (26 years old from Rio Dell) in the follow car. Agents knew that Elliot had three active felony warrants in Humboldt County for 11378 H&S (possession of methamphetamine for sale), 10851 VC (auto theft), and 2800.2 VC (felony evading). Agents placed Elliot under arrest for his warrants without issue. Elliot was found to be in possession of 22 grams of methamphetamine.

Elliot was transported to the Humboldt County Jail where he was booked for the following charges:

    • 11378 H&S Possession of methamphetamine for sale
    • Warrants 3 felony warrants

During the jail booking process jail staff located 31 grams of fentanyl hidden inside a body cavity on Elliot’s person. Agents added charges of 11351 H&S (possession of fentanyl for sale) and 4573 PC (bringing drugs into a jail).

Agents attempted to arrest Silverman however he drove in reverse through the parking lot in an attempt to get away from the agents. Silverman ended up blocked in the parking lot of the hotel and he refused commands to show agents his hands. Silverman continually reached under his driver’s seat and would not follow commands. HCDTF Agents called for assistance and officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrived on scene. Agents gave commands to Silverman for approx. 10 minutes before he finally complied, exited the vehicle, and surrendered to arrest without issue.

Silverman was transported to the Humboldt County Jail where he was booked for the following charges:

    • Warrants 2 felony warrants
    • 148(a)(1) PC Obstructing or resisting a police officer

HCDTF would like to thank the California Highway Patrol and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this investigation. Anyone with information related to this investigation or other narcotics related crimes are encouraged to call the Humboldt County Drug Task Force at 707-267-9976.

Why were they out ? Something’s really wrong with our justice system.

I feel pretty uncomfortable that we saw a picture of it. Hope they cleaned it off really well first and props to the person who had the pleasure of doing that.

The democrats in Sacramento that have destroyed our judicial system and enables criminals can answer your question about catch and release…

how do you propose we fund keeping 10-15% of our population in jail? right now we have 5% of our population in the jail facility in Eureka. and there is no way to make it bigger due to contamination from a former dry cleaner at that location. our local perps are overwhelmingly a byproduct of conservative values. maybe we should focus on that.

Hmmm… why not do what ‘they’ (our previous generations) used to do ? Put them in work camps.

Used to be a number of them in Humboldt County, now they are mostly gone.

Daytime… Build highways, clean out the forests etc.

Evening. Spent in bunkhouses surrounded by electrical fences with concertina wire on top.

Might have one walk away… but heck now they are just turning them out to commit more crimes.

do you realize the can of worms you’d be opening, suggesting that a person named Silverman be sent to a “labor” camp? Oy vey!

Thanks to liberal Gov. Newsom releasing so many criminals from our prisons, our inmate fire fighting crews have been reduced by 90% and crime has spiked. There are few low level custody inmates to fill the fire camps. The loss of those crews and their man power contributed to larger and more destructive fires last year alone.

Contamination from a dry cleaner is not stopping them from expanding the jail

Humboldt County has a population of just over 135,558 people. If 5% of them were in the county jail, it would be housing 6,778 people. Either you are mistaken, or that jail is way the hell bigger than it looks.

5% of 125k. More than 5,000 people? Is the overflow housed in the deep forest somewhere? Did Reagan and Trump somehow send them subliminal messages while their mom forced them to watch Hang em high while force feeding them jalapeño cheese puffs? Nah, Math.

What does “our local perps a byproduct of conservative value” even mean????

Aren’t they a byproduct of statist-neoliberal values? You guys are the ones that deny God’s existence, promote sexual immorality, and glorify drug use…

Anyways, the old school hippies were much more like libertarians (the internet kind not the corporate wannabe kind) than democrats who really just want more and more government all of the freakin time.

Without hard work (conservative value) then people become slothful and turn to drugs out of boredom and lack of self esteem due to a lack of connection to GOD.

GOD is what you need… Not fentanyl

Hard work is a conservative value and no one else’s?

please tell me more. How about this I appreciate and use weed/psychedelics, am very religious, and am most definitely working myself to the bone. However I despise the culture of modern day conservatism, which is mostly hypocritical “fuck you I got mine” sentiments. Not that the democrats are any better…

Oh and most of the hard drug users (meth/opiates) I know are also hardcore conservatives and “Christians”.
Face it you and all the rest caught some weird brain worms and are now stuck on a hill to die on that benefits nobody except the super rich folks that only pretend to talk about so called “family values” and what not.

” our local perps are overwhelmingly a byproduct of conservative values. maybe we should focus on that.”

Your facts are wrong. The liberal left has had a majority in the California Legislature for the past 50 years. Conservative votes haven’t had an impact on our political scene. Conservatives support the enforcement of our laws to protect society. The left is on an ethical and moral race to the bottom.

If you seriously want change for the better, vote republican in 2022 and 2024, to change the status quo here and bring sanity to our state and judicial system. The left is on an ethical and moral race to the bottom, so they ignore our laws that protect us and embrace criminals. Maybe we should focus on that.

I estimate our jail population to be approximately 2% not 5%.

Wow in 2016 Jacob Silverman was arrested this being the case…During the search of the room, HCDTF agents located approximately 68.5 grams of suspected heroin along with $6,380 in cash. Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales were added to Blizzard’s and Silverman’s booking. Both subjects are currently held at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where their bail has been set at $125,000

The county needs more facilities or work camps for folks to have the proper amount of time or “Time Out” to improve their situation. And maybe make a positive contribution too society. It would be more productive than what’s goin on lately.

Honestly, good. Get these scum fucks out of Garberville. I have no issues if people wanna consume a little dope but Jesus fuck, serving up fent is just destroying the community. Fuck the suppliers of tweakers and dope fiends. At a certain point can’t we just run these fucks out of town?
