Structure Fire at Wilder Ridge , Bucket Brigade Helps Save Home
Early April 8 about 3:30 a.m., the Telegraph Ridge Volunteer Fire Company (TRVFC) was paged for a structure fire in the Jewett Ridge area of Wilder Ridge. Crews from that company responded with three pieces of equipment. Cal Fire, Whitethorn Fire and one volunteer from Honeydew Fire responded as well.
Peter Lawsky, Chief of the TRVFC reported that when emergency crews arrived on scene neighbors were already there with a bucket brigade. Even though the owner was not at home at the time, Lawsky said, neighbors formed a bucket brigade to a water tank about 100 feet away and “kept it down enough” that firefighters were able to save the home when they arrived.
The cause, he said, appeared to be a generator. “The generator room, part of a deck and one wall of the house were involved,” he said. “The rest of the home was saved.”

whew !
I’m not recommending anybody jeopardise their life or safety, but a person with a garden house can save a house if they start soon enough. Even if the fire has gone too far to stop, you can slow it down until help arrives.
Way to go bucket brigade and firefighters!!!
Good work, Telegraph Ridge, Honeydew & Calfire!
