Crash Off 101 Near Rio Dell, According to First Reports
According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, a pickup crashed “south of the bridges” off the center of Hwy 101 near Rio Dell about 4:05 p.m.
The occupants are two juveniles with minor injuries and one adult male with an arm injury that was characterized as moderate, according to the incident commander speaking over the scanner.

It scared the bejesus out of me! Right behind my house…it was just a really loud WHUMP! No crash sound or anything…no tire screech…I walked way out in the back yard but no one slowed down or anything…I couldn’t figure it out…then I turned on the scanner…yikes! Poor kids!

Why were they out of the house? Let me ask you this… What is a single Dad that just moved here supposed to do? Leave his kids home alone? He was out getting formula and food for his family. Now that we cleared that up, I’m glad to inform you that they are all home safe and sound. (A little shook up considering one boy lost his mom in 2018 to a car accident). But thank you everyone for your concerns… and helping them feel welcome.
