UPDATE 2:45 p.m.: According to Samantha Karges, spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, “At about 1:52 this afternoon, a Sheriff’s deputy heading eastbound on 299 observed a male subject on a motorcycle at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The deputy attempted a traffic stop at the Blue Lake Exit off 299. The driver of the motorcycle failed to yield. At that point, a pursuit was initiated….Due to high speeds and danger to public the deputy terminated the pursuit at Greenwood Road. After that pursuit was terminated the motorcyclist was involved in an accident.”
The Sheriff’s Department was not in charge of the investigation of the accident, Karges said and referred us to the CHP. We’ve requested more information from them.

I suppose that’s one way to weed out the gene pool. But it’s a pity – People will grieve, others are having a bad day dealing with some kid who has/had no sense.
This is so very sad. Our condolences to his family and friends.
R.I.P.
??Its a bummer he did what he did but he still was someone’s son,or he could of had kids and a family. ?
Speed kills.
The best way to go. Ride on!
Just don’t take anybody with you. Don’t Worry about family and friends. Be happy.
There’s nothing at that ” following chapter” CHP link…page not found.
Dylan was always a good guy. This is so sad.
Oh Dylan….Nooooooo. Ride on paradise sweet boy you will be missed
Very sorry for the family!! and very lucky he didn’t kill someone else with his unlawful thoughtless. Anyone going “in excess of 100 mph” is just asking for trouble.
