Wintery weather continues to pound the Emerald Counties. Watch for snow in the mountains, hail and rain elsewhere, and roadway flooding.

There have already been multiple accidents in the Arcata/McKinleyville area that appear to be related to hail though that hasn’t been confirmed. Please be cautious while driving.

Look for UPDATES in green.

Anyone know about the 101 slide status? Caltrans says one lane out. At the usual Piercy.

There were two spin outs on by school road. The road looked wet cause the light for one moment, then the next it was all hail on the ground. Just drive cautiously and not in a hurry and you shall be fine today.

Tried to go to Gville from the Cove just a bit after 1 p.m., followed snow plow out, so county is plowing. Temp was 34°. Snowing pretty heavy , sticking/icy at top of hill (King Peak & SC Rd). 4wd/awd/chains. Would not attempt in 2wd. We turned back around as conditions were iffy for our vehicle. Snowing just above General Store on way down. Deceiving as it is just breezy at our house down the hill.
