Two Injured in Accident This Morning

This is a press release from the California Highway Patrol. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On the morning of Wednesday January 13, 2016, at approximately 10:24 AM, 35 year old Erin Kalb of Pismo Beach, CA, was driving her 2010 Toyota Rav4 on US-101 northbound approaching Indianola Cutoff.  During the same time Christina Wilson of Scotia, CA, was driving her 2012 Scion while stopped at the intersection of Indianola Cutoff and US-101.

For reasons still under investigation, Ms. Wilson drove her vehicle from Indianola Cutoff into the northbound lanes of US-101, directly into the path of the Toyota Rav4.  The front of the Rav4 collided into the driver’s side of the Scion.  Both parties were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital with minor injuries.

All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision and DUI is not believed to be a factor.  The CHP Humboldt Area office is investigating this traffic collision.
