Four Local Teens Compete for Humboldt-Del Norte Dairy Princess Title May 8

Four young women will compete for the prestigious title of Dairy Princess during the District 1 Dairy Princess contest on May 8, 2026, at the River Lodge in Fortuna.
This year’s contestants are Addison Burgess and Isabella Mora of Fortuna, Gianna Regli of Ferndale, and Teresa Catano-Moreno of Loleta.
Addison is the daughter of Doug and Susan Burgess. She is a junior at Fortuna Union High School and would like to pursue a degree in biological research. Addison is a member of the local 4-H club which has given her the opportunity to raise and show dairy cattle. She is a member of the Interact Club, plays on the varsity soccer team, and varsity track and field.
Isabella, daughter of Joseph and Kristina Mora, is a junior at Fortuna Union High School and plans to attend College of the Redwoods to become a teacher. Her great-grandparents farmed on the Arcata Bottoms for over 60 years, and her grandparents own the Humboldt Auction Yard. Isabella showed dairy heifers at the Redwood Acres and Humboldt County Fairs. Isabella is an active member of the Future Farmers of America and works at Jersey Scoops, a local ice cream shop.
Gianna, daughter of Jim and Susan Regli, is being raised on her family’s dairy, Regli Jerseys. As a junior, she is a member of the Ferndale Future Farmers of America dairy judging team and shows dairy animals at the Humboldt County Fair. Gianna plays varsity tennis, varsity basketball, and was on the varsity soccer team. After graduation, she would like to get a degree in nursing and become an Emergency Room Nurse.
Teresa is the daughter of Francisco Catana and Angelica Moreno. As a junior at Ferndale high school, she is on the track and field team, plays varsity basketball and soccer, and is a member of the Ferndale Future Farmers of America. Teresa’s ties to the dairy industry come from growing up on local dairy’s that her father has worked on. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing with hopes of becoming a NICU nurse.
The young lady crowned as Dairy Princess will represent the dairy industry in Humboldt and Del Norte counties where she will serve the area as an ambassador for the dairy industry with various audiences. The newly selected princess and her alternate will participate in mandatory training, provided by the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), where they will receive professional development coaching.
