Two-Vehicle Collision on Southbound 101 Near Fernbridge Causes Traffic Disruption, No Injuries Reported

traffic accident

Shortly after 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, a two-vehicle collision occurred on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just south of the Fernbridge Drive on-ramp, near the area known as the rock pit. A red 2010 Ford Focus reportedly rear-ended a silver Toyota Tacoma, and both vehicles were described as stuck together with visible front and rear-end damage.

Despite the impact, no injuries were reported, and the incident has been classified as a non-injury collision by CHP.

At the time of the crash, Caltrans was already on scene with a lane closure in place for mowing operations in the #2 lane. The collision further impacted traffic as responding units worked to clear the roadway. Tow trucks were requested to assist in separating and removing the vehicles.

Drivers are advised to remain cautious through the area until normal traffic flow is fully restored.

Glad there were no injuries. It must be mating season if the two vehicles are stuck together.

Just throw some cold water on the two stuck vehicles to separate them…

I saw this accident. This is a good example of why one doesn’t slow down or stop when getting on the freeway. And it’s a good example of why when CalTrans has a lane closure, you slow the hell down and let oncoming traffic merge. The red car was going too fast and was unable to stop in time for the pick up who was too hesitant while merging into freeway traffic. Both of them need to go back to driving school.

Sounds like the Taco chickened out while the Focus wasn’t paying attention…
