Woman Injured in Crash Near Arcata and McKinleyville
A solo vehicle crash between Arcata and McKinleyville was reported this morning, according to a report over the scanner. The incident occurred on the eastbound offramp of State Route 200 off Highway 101 northbound, with dispatch receiving the call just before 9 a.m.
The crash was first reported to be between a silver Honda Civic and a black SUV but a later report says a single vehicle was involved.
Initial reports state that a woman occupant suffered an injury to her arm but no injury was reported for the juvenile passenger.
An ambulance is responding to the scene of the crash.

No doubt that messed up a perfectly good Saturday for the intrepid duo, but I’m happy there were no lasting injuries we know of. And… there’s an object lesson available here.
Not really sure how the accident happened, but I am pleased the woman only had an injury to her arm and I hope she will heal quickly. Happy the juvenile was unharmed, but probably scared to death.
Sooo many accidents on the 200. I would think the county would be running into liability issues by now. They have done a number of attempted fixes on that very short stretch of road, all attempts have been very poorly executed resulting in what seems to be even more accidents.
drove by right after with CHP at scene looked like a big steel light pole had been a victim of the crash.. as had a black SUV. Hope the adult driver and juvenile passenger are ok.
