[UPDATE 2:47 p.m.] Motorcycle Rider Injured in Crash on Highway 101 Near Rio Dell

A motorcycle crashed near Rio Dell on Highway 101, close to the Davis Street off-ramp at approximately 1:45 p.m. Initial reports indicated that the rider was lying in the roadway, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

One northbound lane is closed down

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, at least one rider was involved and required medical attention.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available from the authorities regarding the condition of the rider and the potential causes of the accident.

UPDATE 2:47 p.m.: The lane is reopened  and traffic is moving normally.

I am very thankful that the rider was not killed. A big thank you to the passerby for stopping and helping the rider. A total of three motorcycles perhaps traveling in a group. I see a few groups riding together here in the summer.

Sounds about right, three old dudes riding bikes. They were at the shell right before that. I bet the one that crashed was the one having a tall can on the side of shell. I remember thinking he’s going to get himself killed.
