Slip Siding Away: SUV Crashes Off Hwy 299 This Evening

Emergency vehicles at the scene of a vehicle on its side off Hwy 299 near Giuntoli Lane in northern Arcata.

An SUV landed on its side this evening in a water-filled ditch after going about 20 feet off of Hwy 299 near the Giuntoli Lane exit at about 7:19 p.m., according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

Emergency vehicles responded to the scene but neither the driver nor their dog needed medical attention.
