Used to take my deer rifle on the bus to school during deer hunting season. Bus driver would drop us off three miles before our stop so we could hunt the rest of the way home. Those were the days.

yep, used to hunt water fowl in the morning and then drive to high school with the shot gun in the rack. Today violence is almost every where we look and it plays heavy in the way kids react in our society.

Been shooting arrows at targets for awhile and about ready to move up to game fowl, maybe a boar or deer, but later. Here’s my question: you said you’d hunt water fowl on the way to school. Don’t the birds need to be dressed, gutted, proper terminology welcomed, fairly quickly? I mean, I get if you’re on the bay or in the woods you gotta pack it out. But, can it sit in your rig all day before tending to it? Or, was it this time of year and cold enough outside to sit for a bit? I’m new at this, and serious, so, please be kind. I will allow newbie jokes.

The funny thing is the bus driver brought his rifle too. I guess there was a chance he’d spot a deer after dropping off all the kids on his final drive home.

Second to last paragraph makes it sound like more than one student was involved yet the rest of the story indicates a single student. Which is it?

Replica or not. A BB gun will still put an eye out

“booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility due to the circumstances in which it was discovered.” Is there something missing here cuz I was wondering under what circumstances define citing and release to parents, as a replica did the BB gun have the marking that indicates the gun was not a real firearm and was the student considered to be a threat to himself or others in which case a 3-day Mental Health (51-50) evaluation would be more productive than for all involved than JDF and finally do the parents have to pay a fee to FPD for hooking up their kid like Fortuna charges for hooking up your car simply because they can?

I have a bit of a problem understanding how any, much less, “a responsible student” brings any form of a gun to any campus these days. What was the point of that choice?
