Surviving having your vehicle torn in two after looking at the picture is just AMAZING! I sure wish he had pulled over to the side of the road and taken a nap. Hopefully he will next time before going to sleep at the wheel. He could have easily struck another vehicle coming the other way, and killed someone including himself.

Cy, before buffing the vehicle I recommend you wait until all the Gorilla glue has dried.

Looks like his door was still functioning.

He must have been living right.

Surrounded by a small hedge of protection.

Amazing.

Wow! Glad he came out of that alive. Torn in half lengthwise!
I wonder at what point he woke up? Did he see the tree? Or his life flash by?

This happened in front of my home. All l heard was what sounded like an explosion.
In the past 5 years there have been at least 4 serious wrecks in almost the same spot. My parents have had their fences taken out on 4 occasions. Too many deer to count, dogs and other animals have been struck and killed here as well. 27 years ago a fatal motorcycle crash- the reason- for all of it -driving too fast.
This is a long straight stretch from WildThings Road to BigCreek Road. There are many blind driveways and people passing on double yellow lines. We are asking Caltrans to lower the speed limit through our “neighborhood” to protect people and property. PLEASE SLOW DOWN.

Subaru should offer him a new one in exchange to use that pic as a safety advertisement.

Fell asleep at the wheel if I was a highway patrol I would be suspicious and call for a blood test
