Press release from Redwood Acres Raceway:

With a full crowd on hand, racing returned to Redwood Acres Raceway for the first time in 2024 this past Saturday night. Upstate Modified and Upstate Bombers took to Eureka’s 3/8-mile paved oval along with RAR’s local late models, Legends and mini stocks. The night’s event was presented by Mid-City Motor World.

Late model superstar, Jeremy Doss showed why he is one of the top short track racers in the United States in the Upstate Bomber Series feature. Doss displayed his versatility by winning the 50-lap main event in flag-to-flag fashion driving the car normally piloted by Brandon White. Trystan Mucci out-dueled Jordan Krupa for second while Terry Pittman and Brayden Carnes completed the top five finishers.

Sierra Furia won the Upstate Modified Series main event in a similar fashion but her victory came under more intense conditions. Furia had to endure race-long pressure from Darrin Knight, the most successful modified driver in Redwood Acres Raceway history. Furia’s victory was her second straight in the Upstate Mods this season. Sammy Nuno placed third followed by Sal Martinez and Dennis Anderson.

Luke Hall was victorious in the late model main beating out Romeo Venza, Ken Hallis and Jordon Paiment. Brandon White was the winner of the Legends feature over Mike Doss, Landen Green, Kai Lovell and Tyler Krupa. Derek Duke scored an upset win in the mini stocks in his first start at RAR beating Cole Peterson, Sorhna Li and Gary Klinetobe.

Heat race winners were Pittman and Carnes in the Upstate Bombers, Furia in the Upstate Modifieds, Hall in the late models, Krupa in the Legends and Klinetobe in the mini stocks. Fastest qualifiers included Pittman in the Upstate Bombers with a 17.890, Furia with a 16.563 for the Upstate Modified, Hall with a 16.190 for the late models, White with a 17.479 for the Legends and Klinetobe with a 19.511 for the mini stocks.

The next race on the schedule will take place during the Redwood Acres Fair on Friday June 21. Late models, Legends, bombers and mini stocks will be racing. More information about the Fair Race as well as the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series event on July 27 are available at RacinTheAcres.com and on Redwood Acres Raceway’s Facebook page.
