An RV is reported to be fully engulfed in flames on Thomas Road two miles past the school along the ridge at the top–west of Miranda in the Salmon Creek watershed. There is concern that the flames may spread to the surrounding vegetation, according to the first reports.

Very sorry for the folks that lost their RV completely in the fire. I pray if anyone was inside, they got out unharmed. A very big thank you to the volunteers from Salmon Creek Fire Department. Please if you live in that area donate to the department. They can always use money for equipment, carry on board snacks, bottled water, or just call them and ask what they need. Some of the firefighters did not have on firefighter protective pants. Those would be a very generous gift and protect their legs from fire.

With the smoke going straight up, and being on a ridgetop, that fire is going nowhere. Take your time.

I see your point, but if it were your home burning you would probably still appreciate the quickest possible response to extinguish it.

I completely appreciate your sentiment. R.V. fires are (sadly) hard to save. My sympathy and apologies to the R.V. owner. Did they save anything?

Tinder boxes on wheels. These rigs burn fast. No way the volunteers are making it before insurance totals it.

I was in a vol. Fire dept. for 39 years. I never saved an R.V. If you can’t get it put out in five minutes it’s gone. Sad .

I respect your wisdom, having grown up here and with your family’s long (for white folks) history here, but, “take your time”?! I’m still learnin’ with Ern. It’s dry, too damn dry.

Thanks volunteer firefighters! Without your gifts to the community we would lose more and be at under much greater risks! When getting insurance they ask, ‘How far to the next fire department?’ That matters to what we pay!
Also. Let’s remember that any cars, especially the many dead ones that litter the landscape, often still have gas and oils in them. Not only will this likely cause a toxic leaks to our otherwise clean environment, they can also be fire ‘bombs’ at any time.
