Comedian Bill Burr really wants to do a gig in Eureka

In the latest episode of Humboldt Last Week

Comedian Bill Burr recently put out a video featuring himself at one point saying he’s been trying to do a gig in Eureka “forever.”

That prompted some locals to post “how do we make this happen” in an online community.

Suffice to say, emails were sent to local promoters of note.

I’m crossing my fingers because that dude is hilarious. In addition to his comedy and podcasts, you may have seen Bill Burr in Breaking Bad, the Mandolorian, or even Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson’s new movie which was pretty good: “The King of Staten Island.”

Bill Burr, come to Humboldt! And please do my show.

Also in Episode 174

A mom accused of killing her son is going to trial with more severe charges, murals, race cars, adventuring, historic local beer, crime news, a petition is going around to change the name of McKinleyville and more.

Bill is hilarious! Much of his comedy comes from just looking at a situation honestly and saying it out loud. Those of us who appreciate sarcastic wit and irony will love it. But most of the sensitive snowflake people of Humboldt will recoil and hate on this man. And that makes it even funnier!..”No Reason To Hit A Woman”….https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIOY2ezMy9A

I guess comedy is in the eye of the beholder. Exuberant, yes. Boundary pushing, yes. Funny….eh….

And…there you go! Making everything about politics. And guessing if somebody is with “us” or “them”. That is what is destroying our country and breaking down our community. I know the “moral majority” started this crap but it really is a social cancer so why feed it?

Right on Farce!

Thanks to every single person brave enough to point out absurdity and refusing to feed it.

Jesus….he has conservative views on working hard for what you want. He is very apathetic and stands up for progressive social issues on race and gay rights, although he still makes fun of things. He is married to a democratic black women, but his brother has ran for office in Mass as a republican. You can be a moderate or have different views on different subjects. It is OK to do.

His wife shows up on his podcasts and they make fun of each other and their views.

Not that it matters, but he heavily leans Democratic. He also readily admits that he doesn’t follow politics closely enough to make informed opinions on them. He also thinks the president is a twit.

But again, none of that matters because he’s a comedian. If he was running for mayor, I’d want to know these things.

This. I just spent a half hour on you-tube to check him out. Not offended or anything, but there wasn’t really anything I found really funny. Also, not a fan of the enraged bro shtick. More of a Anthony Jeselnik fan myself.

Though if he were to come to Humboldt, I hope the crowd enjoys him.

I personally think Bill Burr is funny, and maybe if he does a show in Humboldt other known comedians will. If he’s not welcomed because of possible offensiveness, then the USAs in more trouble than I thought.
