2020 Warden Stamp, Featuring Marine Fish, Now Available, Says CDFW

Press release from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife:

shield shaped stamp with dorado illustration, warden badge, and text - Support California Wildlife Officers
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has released the 2020 Warden Stamp, a collectible decal that many diehard hunters and anglers collect and display on vehicles and other items in order to show support for California’s wildlife officers. This year’s stamp, which features a dorado, a marine fish also known as mahi-mahi or dolphinfish, can be purchased online or at CDFW offices for just $5.

The Warden Stamp Program was initiated in 2010 to address the need for better equipment and training for the state’s wildlife officers and to provide funding for special law enforcement programs. All funds raised from the sales of the stamp go to purchase necessary equipment for wildlife officers and to support CDFW’s K-9 program.

“Those who purchase the Warden Stamp – hunters, anglers and non-consumptive users – appreciate and want to conserve our state’s amazing natural resources,” said David Bess, CDFW Deputy Director and Chief of the Law Enforcement Division. “Purchase of the stamp demonstrates public support of wildlife officers and allows them to do their jobs more safely and efficiently.”

Approximately 465 wildlife officers patrol and protect 159,000 square miles of California’s natural habitat and 200 miles out to sea. Though their primary function is to enforce California’s Fish and Game Code, they may be called upon to enforce any of California’s laws.

Wildlife officers patrol on foot, on horseback, by plane, boats and in a variety of vehicles. They investigate reports of violations, collect and preserve evidence, write reports and testify in court.

Wildlife officers are also expected to promote and coordinate hunter education programs, collect and report information on the conditions of fish and wildlife and their habitat and represent CDFW at local schools, meetings of hunting and fishing clubs and other community events.

Maybe on a good year. I personally have only heard of them about as far north as Ensanada, Baja. You had to go really far out to catch them too, could be wrong though. They like the water warm, really warm. I know you won’t find em below 72 degrees

I used to like these guys. But now they beat the hell out of my small neighbors over any small deviation from a rulebook they are adjusting daily…and telling us all that we should turn in our neighbors over any grow that hasn’t sucked up to the Big Scam of permits and taxes. I now have zero interest in helping support them.

Meanwhile bum camps are flooding the creeks n rivers with human feces, used needles and whatever lease they throw in the ground and refuse to pick up. I guess they are protected under California law!

Don’t forget when you go to fish and game for a license, tag, stamp or any other purchase take your credit or debit card because they don’t take cash.

My husband went to get his fishing license and was told they don’t take cash because of the large sums paid by growers so now everyone has to use debit or credit cards because they don’t want large sums of money in their office. I guess you can go to a sporting store.

Yeah, because a license and a couple of report cards is “large sums of money”, LOL!!

Dorado are caught off our Humboldt county coast almost every year. They are rare and their range depends on how far the warm water currents push in. You hear of them being caught while anglers are usually targeting other species, like Albacore. 50-100+ miles offshore. Swordfish sightings aren’t completely unheard of either.

I would not give them a dime for that silly ass looking sticker. I guess now it is just the Department of Fish.

Department of fish and game is comparable to the ss in the nazi regime!!! There outlook towards extortion and theft is very similar, they are above the constitution with there circumvention of our rights and protections against a rogue government. (A rogue theiving government is what we have). Fish and game and any representative that backs them needs to be disbanded and voted out.
