Humboldt Sponsors: Supporting Local Youth Through 2025 Grant Opportunities

Humboldt Sponsors, a local nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to raising funds solely to benefit the youth of Humboldt County, is pleased to announce the 2025 grant application cycle is now open.  

Humboldt-based nonprofit organizations seeking funding assistance for programs serving local youth are invited to apply, including first-time and eligible former applicants. Grants are to be used exclusively to benefit Humboldt County children and cannot fund ANY salaries, stipends, or administrative expenses. 

Each year in April, Humboldt Sponsors announces its newly selected grant recipients and officially recognizes the valuable programs and services they provide. In 2024, Humboldt Sponsors awarded 69 individual grants to local youth-related organizations, which totaled $104,060. Since 1971, Humboldt Sponsors has distributed more than $2,939,000 in grants to benefit Humboldt County children. 

These individual grants support many diverse activities and programs for local youth, such as scholarships and camperships for recreational and cultural activities, youth leadership projects, as well as the purchase of educational, learning and play materials for children. In addition, Humboldt Sponsors’ grants have assisted youth oriented programs that provide basic needs. 

“We are able to raise most of the funds needed to support our many grant requests with the proceeds from our various fundraising events throughout the year,” stated Denise Christen, Grants Chairperson. “These include our annual spring and summer fundraisers and individual member fundraising projects, as well as generous donations from the community, our Humboldt Sponsors members and our many business sponsors.”  

A fillable grant application form and all supporting materials may be downloaded from the Humboldt Sponsors website: www.humboldtsponsors.org. Funding decisions will be completed by March 31, 2025.  

Completed 2025 application packets must be submitted to Humboldt Sponsors by the postmark deadline of Friday, February 7, 2025, in order to qualify for consideration. Application packets should be mailed to:  Humboldt Sponsors Grants Committee, c/o Denise Christen, P.O. Box 730, Loleta, CA 95551.
