Pretty sure this will be challenged. Newsom is a dipshit.

Gavin Newsom to offer rebates to electric vehicle buyers if President Donald Trump repeals federal subsidies on EVs would exclude Elon Musk’s Tesla from the program.Bloomberg reports that in a move that could escalate tensions between California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Elon Musk, Tesla’s electric vehicles would be shut out from consumer rebates under a new proposal unveiled by Newsom on Monday. The governor plans to offer rebates to EV buyers if US President-elect Donald Trump repeals a federal subsidy, potentially rebooting a program California phased out in 2023.
According to Newsom’s office, the current proposal includes market-share limitations that would exclude most or all of Tesla’s EV models. The details, including Tesla’s possible omission from the credits, will be negotiated with the state legislature and could change. The governor’s office stated that the move is “about creating the market conditions for more of these car makers to take root.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk criticized the proposal on his X/Twitter platform, calling it “insane” and citing the automaker’s manufacturing presence in the state.

$7.00 Gas coming to California…in January.
This is from November 8 2024
“The California Air Resources Board voted Friday to approve new gas regulations which will result in as much as a .65 cent per gallon increase in California’s gas prices.
This brings us to Gov. Newsom’s plan to decrease the state’s gas supply in special session legislation, as well as the California Air Resources Board mandating an additional .50 cents per gallon be added to the price of gas in California in January.
This was Newsom’s plan all along, which is all part of the goal to force California’s drivers out of their cars, and/or into electric vehicles, and be the first state in the country to do it. But ultimately, the Democrats’ goal is to ban petroleum-powered internal combustion engines by 2035 and gas-powered vehicles.
The California Air Resources Board is an unelected board consisting of 16 members. All but two voted to pass the new regulations – which will do nothing for the climate – we already have some of the cleanest air in the world in California.
As Ashley Zavala with KCRA reported, “This policy is key to the electric vehicle transition that we need,” said board member Susan Shaheen.
This is Gavin Newsom’s California.
This is also Kamala Harris’s California – the country dodged a bullet.

Yes the game is to force Kalifornia into a green deal. Charge more for fuel. Give credits for EVs. It is a fake economy manipulated by the government. I hope Trump will put an end to it. If we get enough Californians to protest the Feds will step in.

I would hope so. I don’t see in the US, or California Constitution where we are required to allow ourselves to be crushed by a government engaged in forcing the populace into servitude and poverty. Or where we are required to bend to oligarchs and kleptocrats, as we are.

Free California!

That new tribal gas station (Lucky 7) in Smith River is getting a ton of business. Some of it mine. Also, Fred Meyer in Brookings was sitting at $3.34 this morning. Lucky 7 was $3.45. You get better total mileage on the OR blend fuels too. Some of these stations are also installing EV stations and those are cheaper too as you don’t pay PG&E rates to charge your vehicle.

Even that newer casino south end of Crescent city is very cheap. I cant believe any other gas station in town can survive long. it was like 1.50 per gallon cheaper last time I went by.

Biden’s legacy will be the President who pushed the US economy over the edge, towards unavoidable dollar collapse despite the best efforts of DOGE to cut government spending. Throw WW3 onto the ledger and he’ll really go down, him and his prog/neocon Nazi puppetmasters

Joe Biden did that!

Kamala’s latest was no different from any of her other miserable attempts to connect with voters. But, good to be reminded why she was not elected.
Her disgruntled donors are now calling her unelectable, even as she begs for more money to make up that missing $20 mil. Yes indeed, she did the impossible – made $1.2 (or was it $1.5?) billion vanish in 107 days. Her best bet now would be to connect with some not-too-fastidious ghostwriter and get that tell-all out while her name is still marginally relevant. After that, the cringeworthy Netflix miniseries should keep her in Pinot for a little while.
Where, oh where is The Hollywood Squares when you need them?

Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has big ideas for busting public health policy norms.
His Senate confirmation hearings — should they happen — will come with lots of questions about what Kennedy’s ideas would look like in practice.
His new role would mean relinquishing his outsider critic status and working from within a massive government system, leading an agency of 80,000 employees and dealing with everything from drug approvals to food recalls to the pandemic response.

So, what happens when his motto “Make America Healthy Again” collides with one of Washington’s largest government bureaucracies?
“He seems very clear on what it is he wants to get done. I’m just not sure he has an understanding of what it will take to get that done,” said one former senior HHS official who worked in the Biden administration.

No, I have never been to a Trump rally. Have you? If so, were you forced to go or did you choose to go? Same question for your presence here. Are you forced to be here or do you choose it?

Realistic Answers to America’s Debt Problemhttps://lawliberty.org/realistic-answers-to-americas-debt-problem/

To put the scale of the problem into context, let’s relate our national debt to geography. The Earth has a circumference at the equator of 24,901 miles. $35.9 trillion in $100 bills stacked one on top of the other would be 24,273 miles tall. In other words, it would be very close to being able to encircle the globe.

If the military budget were cut in half, and earnings above $1 million were taxed at 50%, we could pay off the debt by the time someone born today graduated high school, all while boosting social services to ensure that kid is provided for during their upbringing.

Move responsibility for the vast majority of federal services back to the states, where they belong.
Each state can decide for itself how socialist it wants to be and tax accordingly (more socialism=more taxes).

That would do more than anything to put the Democrats back into power at the Federal level.
Republican-voting states rely upon Federal subsidies far more than Democrat-voting ones.
Cutting their purse-strings sure would be a wake-up call.

Still, that plan would only work if each state could set their own interstate commerce policies. We’d also have to allow each state to decide whether or not they wished to contribute to national defense.
You’ve basically just advocated for doing away with the Constitution and bringing back the Articles of Confederation.
I don’t entirely disagree, I’m just curious how you think this will actually play out.

All welfare programs (not counting Medicare) total about half of what we spend on the military. This includes SSI, Food Stamps, Childcare, Preschool, School Lunches, Job Training, and more. https://federalsafetynet.com/welfare-budget/
What exactly do envision happening when these are cut?
