Expand legal immigration for the world’s best and brightest, that’ll contribute to making our country the best. Expand the Braceros Program if employers need temporary workers. All the criminal migrants need to be sent home and apply for legal entry. Mandatory eVerify, no public benefits or medical for criminal migrants. Schools need to be taught in English so our kids aren’t hamstrung.

RFK going WILD on health! He’s not afraid to bring in the bush meat basket at McDonald’s! I’m lovin it. That’s ETHNIC! And good for the bottom line. Corporate profits always trickle down to the little guy. Maybe it’s because he can fit under the table. Can’t wait for rice and lentils on the menu! RFK is going to get rid of all that corn syrup soda! That’s good for American Farmers. The sooner they switch to growing aspartame the better. We’re all agreed the National beverage is Diet Mountain Dew, the paradigm is shifting. The only hardships will be for the weak. And the poors.

And look who he nominated for
CIA Director.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In his latest major appointment, on Thursday Donald J. Trump nominated a new chief of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Speaking to reporters, Trump praised his nominee’s “extensive experience with Russia.”
“I have phone conversations with him every day, and he knows everything I know,” Trump told reporters. “Plus, the CIA won’t be the first spy agency he’s worked for.”

Some people lack that.

Assuming you mean MSN, as MSM is more useful to treat arthritis than as a news source. But sure.MSNBC, similar to Fox on the Right, tends to report factual information with a political spin. Therefore, one must be aware that both of those platforms are using cherry-picked facts and loaded language to sway people in a particular direction.
Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Truth Social, etc. allow anyone to post anything they’d like with zero requirement that they are even attempting to be accurate. Linking to random posts on these social media sites carries no credibility.

Cherry picking facts = lying.
Crowdsourced information networks generate both truth and falsehoods depending on the users’ ability to filter information. There is no filter possible for MSN, it will only be contextualized to fit the preferred narrative of their political party affiliates.
The trend is clear: social media networks have the capacity to innovate and refine their crowdsourced information systems and most importantly, are not beholden to political parties. MSN is not capable of innovation and will remain confined within the limitations of the traditional media framework.

Ask AI…

“Is X an information source?”

AI Overview

” ➡️ Yes, X (formerly known as Twitter) is considered an information source, as many users access news and information on the platform, with a significant portion reporting seeing breaking news updates in real-time on the site; ⬅️ however, concerns remain regarding the accuracy and potential spread of misinformation due to its social media nature.
Key points about X as an information source:
News consumption:
A significant number of users rely on X to access news, particularly for breaking news updates.
Community Notes feature:
X has implemented “Community Notes” to allow users to add context and fact-check potentially misleading posts.
Concerns about misinformation:
Despite efforts to combat misinformation, X still faces challenges with the spread of false information due to its open nature.
Social media limitations:
As a social media platform, X should be approached with caution when seeking information, as content may not always be verified or accurate.”

How could anyone in California think the democrats did a good job? 600,000 jobs have left the state. We are the second worse state in the union for unemployment. And have more homeless then the rest of the states combined.

600k left when? Last year or over the last 10? Some jobs “left” because the job didn’t leave, the person at it left the state (CA lost 1 delegate since last pres. election) or just removed themselves from the work pool. You are correct that unemployment is one of the highest, currently 5.7%. But not enough to trigger emergency economic protocols. And if people just don’t want to work but are otherwise fully able to to, at least part time, that number affects the unemployment rate too.
Dept. of Labor says CA gained 265,000 non-farm jobs since 9/2023.
Seasonally adjusted employment (Table E) went up 1.5% from this time last year, which correlates to that 265K figure.
But you know, lies, damn lies and statistics.

I dont think in Kalifornia we have an unemployment issue. If you want to work you can. Or you can stay home and get unemployment or some other handout. And vote for it too. The bigger problems are high costs of labor, and fuel. Two things that drive up the rest of the market. $20/hour to make fries is dragging down the rest of the service industry. And driving up the cost of all labor. Typical progressive disaster. In 2028 when JD takes over, maybe Trump with run for Governor of California. That would be his real challenge.

AI Overview

“➡️Yes, Twitter, [X], can be a source of information:⬅️
Real-time information
Twitter can provide real-time information, especially during emergencies and crises. For example, people affected by events can send information from their phones to Twitter, providing first-hand reports.
➡️News source⬅️
Many users consume news on Twitter, and ➡️it can be a good source⬅️for breaking news.
Research tool
Twitter can be a useful tool for researchers, who can use it to find topic ideas, eyewitness statements, and sources for further investigation. Twitter’s hashtag norms make it easier to gather, sort, and expand searches.
Primary source
Social media posts like those on Twitter can be primary sources, which are the raw material for interpreting the past.
Political information
➡️Some people use Twitter as a source for political information⬅️, but it’s important to be aware that Twitter is a place where anyone can write whatever they want, so discussions can be influenced by personal beliefs.
However, Twitter is not without its limitations:
Journalists generally don’t have direct contact with the sources of information they find on social media, which can make it difficult to verify the information.
Twitter’s algorithmic recommendations can shape users’ timelines, which can make it easier for some to amplify their message.
Twitter’s process for gathering, filtering, and propagating information can be rapid, but it may not always be able to separate true information from false rumors.”

“Mr. Ed Theme Lyrics” https://www.lyricsondemand.com/tvthemes/mredlyrics.html

Hello, I’m Mr. Ed

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,

And no one can talk to a horse of course

That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse

He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse.

He’s always on a steady course.

Talk to Mr. Ed.

Closing Theme:

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,

And no one can talk to a horse of course

That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse

He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse.

He’s always on a steady course.

Talk to Mr. Ed.

People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day

But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.

Those are your words not mine…
You have overly narrowed the definition of “Source” to only include the definition of “Source” in the journalistic sense of the word which means something along the lines of “an original author”, and/or, “a reliable informant”…
And you are defensively not budging from that position or specific definition of “Source”…

…even though the connotation of definition of “Source” that you are so firmly adhering to, is actually not the primary definition of the word, “Source”…

Which means a place where you might find whatever it is that you seek…

I’m saying that X is such a place, a “source” of information where one might find whatever information they may seek…

I am not saying that X is the original author, or the reliable informant, or the “source, in the sense of, “where any or all of that information initially came from…

That is what you are arguing against.

For whatever reason…

You seem to be primarily concerned with whether or not X should be held responsible, or not, for the accuracy of is content…

I am not…

X is clearly not “the source” of it’s collective content…

X is also, clearly, a convenient “source” of information…

Is that so impossible to understand…???

It’s just a matter of semantics…

I understand where you are coming from…

This whole nomination thing could backfire on Gaetz.
He had to resign his position as congressman because he was nominated.
So if he isn’t confirmed, can he return to his old position? I seriously doubt he will be confirmed by the way.

So you think an accused pedophile should be AG? Figures.
And you best look into recess appointments.
Senate has to be out for 10 days and measures are in place to prevent that. It ain’t all that easy.
Plus appointees don’t get paid. Think Gaetz is going to like that?

They did release a statement however: https://ethics.house.gov/press-releases/statement-regarding-matter-representative-matt-gaetz
From that: “Notwithstanding the difficulty in obtaining relevant information from Representative Gaetz and others, the Committee has spoken with more than a dozen witnesses, issued 25 subpoenas, and reviewed thousands of pages of documents in this matter. Based on its review to date, the Committee has determined that certain of the allegations merit continued review. During the course of its investigation, the Committee has also identified additional allegations that merit review.
Accordingly, the Committee is reviewing allegations pursuant to Committee Rules 14(a)(3) and 18(a) that Representative Gaetz may have: engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct. The Committee will take no further action at this time on the allegations that he may have shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe or improper gratuity. “

“We analyze the information credibility of news propagated through Twitter, [X], a popular microblogging service. ➡️Previous research has shown that most of the messages posted on Twitter, [X], are truthful⬅️, but, the service is also used to spread misinformation and false rumors, often unintentionally.”

First, some of your links seem to be screwed up. Second, that paper was published in 2011, so wildly out of date. And do you even read the things you post? From the conclusion:

Users online, lack the clues that they have in the real world to asses the credibility of the information to which they are exposed. This is even more evident in the case of inexperienced users, which can be easily mislead by unreliable information. As microblogging gains more significance as a valid news resource, in particular during emergency situations and important events, it becomes critical to provide tools to validate the credibility of online information

It’s an AI cut & paste posting so not much beyond a loaded prompt was likely read.

AI Overview

“Yes, X is the top news app in the US App Store, ranking first in the “Top Free iPad Apps”, “Top Free iPhone Apps”, and “Top Grossing iPhone Apps” charts. However, X doesn’t have much competition in the news category, as most apps in that section are from traditional media outlets.

Bluesky recently became the number one app on the App Store as users have been leaving X.”

“A source”, in the sense, (like X), meaning, or defined as, where one might find something that they seek, such as information, news, or whatever…

…should definitely not be firmly, invariably, and unconditionally equated with…

“A source”, in the sense, meaning, or defined as, “an original author or informant”…

There is a BIG difference between, ‘Source’ (“where you might find something”), and, ‘Source’ (“an original author or a reliable informant”)…

Same word, different meanings, or different connotations of the same word…

However, the definition of “Source” being “where you might find what you are looking for”, takes meaningful precedence over the definition of “Source” being “an original author or a reliable informant”…

The subsequent definition of “Source” was derived from the first definition of “Source”…

Not the other way around…

X “IS’ , “A” “source” of information, it’s true…

Not to be confused with X being “THE” specific, original “source” of any or all of the information widely available on X, which would not be true…

They are two very different concepts…

Apples and oranges…

I read all these things about how trump and his minions seem to want to get rid of just about, if not, all, the folks that work in the fed government.
So, the new minion overseers think they will be able to keep things running smoothly with all newbies?
It scares me, a lot, to think of what will likely happen if this is what will occur.

X: Julie Hamill:

“California recently banned Voter ID.

Charter city Huntington Beach enacted a voter ID requirement via charter amendment in March.

California sued to invalidate HB’s voter ID requirement.

The (Superior) court (of Orange County) sustained HB’s demurrer with leave to amend, meaning the case is over unless the state can come up with a viable cause of action against HB.”

Way to go, huntington beach.
I used to live there back in the day, pretty sweet town.
USA elections are a travesty but we are making progress.

“Guardian quits X social media platform, citing racism and conspiracy theories” https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/guardian-quits-x-social-media-platform-citing-racism-conspiracy-theories-2024-11-13/

British news publisher the Guardian said on Wednesday it will no longer post to X, citing “disturbing content” on the social media platform, including racism and conspiracy theories.

The left-leaning Guardian, which has 10.7 million followers on X, becomes the first large UK media company to retreat from the platform that Elon Musk purchased in 2022.

Critics say Musk’s hands-off approach has allowed lies and hate speech to spread on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“We think that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere,” the Guardian said in an editorial published on its website.

“This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism.”
