Is this “giving back to the community” event only for students?
So they give back to the community that has prepaid for their services while making it sound like they’re giving back to the community at large … kinda seems like a slightly deceitful self serving headline. The students should be hosting a dinner for the local community of unhoused and less fortunate in a true spirit of giving thanks.
Some students are struggling to afford shelter while attending CPH. They’ll benefit from this generosity.
Agreed- this could be helpful for a lot of students. These commenters are taking issue with the fact that this campus entity is trying to garner accolades with this press release about giving back to “the community,” while leaving it vague as to who is actually invited. If the whole community is not welcome, they should keep it out of the local news outlets and only use campus channels of distributing information. The university really needs to get a handle on the relationship between the campus community and the wider local community, because in my view it has been deteriorating for a while and stuff like this is not helping
The food on the Humboldt CalPoly campus is heavenly!
