Dear community,
Humboldt Bay Firefighters Local 652 is proudly endorsing Kenny Carswell as the candidate for Ward 2 in the upcoming Eureka City Council elections. Our firefighters believe Kenny is the best choice for the residents of Ward 2, and we urge voters to consider his candidacy seriously.
Kenny Carswell, who was raised in Ward 2 and continues to reside there, has demonstrated a strong commitment to community safety, public service, and the values that matter most to our firefighters and the citizens we protect. His dedication to addressing the needs of our neighborhoods, aligns with our mission to protect and serve the Eureka community.
In preparation for his campaign, Kenny has made himself available to listen to our firefighters regarding their needs and the needs of the department, both now and for the future. His understanding of the challenges we face, strengthens our confidence in his ability to represent Ward 2 effectively.
As firefighters, we recognize the importance of strong leadership in our community; particularly when it comes to public safety and city services. Kenny’s vision for Eureka includes effective emergency response strategies, community engagement, and sustainable development that benefits all residents.
We encourage all residents of Ward 2 to get to know Kenny Carswell and consider him as their representative. Let’s work together to build a safer, stronger Eureka.

Why is a press release in letter to the editor?
Because it is an opinion piece. This section is in general for opinion. That said, more news-like press releases though will often go in the News section because I don’t have the money nor the manpower to cover in a neutral way.
