Forward Progress on Boyles Fire in Clearlake Stopped

Monday update from the Lake County Fire Protection District on the #BoylesFire in Clearlake.– Forward progress of the fire has been stopped. It is now 40% contained.– The fire has burned 76 acres.– Resources on scene Monday include 21 engines, two water tenders, one dozer & approximately 80 total personnel.– There are 30+ structures destroyed and 40+ vehicles destroyed. The damage inspection process is ongoing.– Evacuations remain in place. Zone CLE-E148-A south of 24th Ave. & Zone CLE-E157 remain in an evacuation order. Zone CLE-E148-B north of 24th Ave. is under an evacuation warning.– Updated total on people evacuated was 2,313.– The evacuation center at Twin Pine Casino in Middletown housed 33 people Sunday night.– 183 customers in the area are currently without power.Link to evacuation map: https://protect.genasys.com/search?z=9.056072381293427…

I wondered same.
Strange place where this fire started, from the satellite map it’s mostly wooded and undeveloped, but the parcel boundaries look more like a mobile home park. Is this another homeless encampment?

It’s another homed encampment. Crazy dense, half sold rural subdivision in a frequently burning landscape. Then add a few of societies mentally ill, cast off to learn responsibility. Grammy still cares and is living out a reverse mortgage walking distance from Walmart. She still loves the kid and could use the help…
