Another lifelong Democrat has joined the Republican Party in Texas, this time, state Rep. Shawn Thierry of Houston.
She made the announcement on Friday, joining Gov. Greg Abbott in Austin.
“This is not the party I grew up with,” Thierry said of the Democratic Party. “I now stand with the party of Lincoln, the party that fought to preserve our Union and fought to end the atrocities of slavery.”

The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised their numbers from a growth of 242,000 new jobs per month (April ’23 to March ’24) to a growth of 173,500 jobs per month.
This still shows very strong economic growth.

It ‘miracle’ was avoiding an economic crisis during the post-pandemic recovery.
Getting inflation down and keeping it down during a near-record run of low unemployment and the prolonged period of economic growth was also bigly impressive.
Of course this can’t all be credited to the President, but the poor guy really doesn’t deserve the shit he’s getting for what is, after all, a very strong economy.
