As the owner of the fire, I have to take my hat off to the Fortuna Fire Crew. If not for them, I would have lost my house.
Their response time for a 1960’s redwood home was awesome.
The fire boiled the water in my copper water pipes, and blew the pipes under the house so I didn’t have any water. If that fire would have gotten up my walls , or into my attic my house would have went up like a Roman candle. The fire was starting to generate noise from its uptake, and growing rapidly.
The Fortuna fire crew arrived in just minutes and immediately chain-sawed the east side of my house, the area of the blaze, as other crew members assessed the west end of the house and prevented the flames from spreading further under the house, squashing the threat.
Thank You so much, Fortuna Fire Department.
Good Job!
I’m so glad that the Fortuna crew was able to help you!
