Vehicle Versus Utility Pole on Myrtle Avenue

Traffic Collision not paid forA traffic collision occurred on the 1500 block Myrtle Avenue, in front of Redwood Curtain, involving a green sedan and a telephone pole. The incident was reported at 11:17 a.m., with the vehicle striking the pole, causing it to lean dangerously and partially rest on the car. Emergency services, including the Eureka Police Department (EPD) and fire units, were promptly notified and dispatched to the scene.
A male subject was reported out of the vehicle, and initial reports indicated potential injuries, though unconfirmed at the time. By 11:19 a.m., fire units were en route to address the situation. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) was also informed and planned to provide an estimated time of arrival to handle the compromised pole.
According to scanner traffic, City Ambulance was on scene just before 11:30 a.m. The CHP Traffic Incident Information page states that personnel on scene have confirmed that the occupant of the vehicle has been injured during the collision.
