A Ruby in the Ruff

on the road again

Ruby just got back from a couple weeks with a foster and is hoping to find her forever family.  The foster home who has been taking care of her says she’s a very friendly and energetic dog who plays well with others.  She enjoyed taking long walks on the beach and particularly enjoyed being on a long leash so she could check on all the things she found.  Good in crates, house trained, and obedient both on the leash and in the car, Ruby is a model dog with a such a sweet disposition that she has even done a great job getting along with cats.  Ruby is 1.5 years old and 40 lbs.

Call the Humboldt County Animal Shelter at 707-840-9132 to set up a meeting.  If you already know what you want, you can fill out the adoption application right here: Adoption Application.

Ruby looks kinda like an African Wild Dog. Maybe a Shepard of some sort? I’d’ve thought she’d be a little bigger than 40lbs. Looks like she’ll be fun and dangerously smart.

We call our little Heeler girl a Diamond in the Ruff; she has a black diamond on her white chest.

Yes. Thank you. That’s the one I was thinking of. Tip of my, uh, typing finger.

Probably a Dutch Shepard mix, they are like Belgian Malinios but slightly smaller and typically brindle color. Learned this from some people who saw ours and told us of the difference.
