People and Places: Holey Deliciousness🥯🥯

This series is dedicated to interviewing interesting people and exploring intriguing places, promising viewers an intimate look at the diversity and beauty of our area through the eyes of those who call it home.

Welcome to “People & Places,” a video column where local resident Henk Conn takes us on a journey through the heart of the California North Coast. Henk shows us a little of what makes each location and its inhabitants worth getting to know.

Welcome back, folks, to our delightful dive into the quirky corners and interesting inhabitants of northwestern California! Today, we’re rolling into Redwood Acres in Eureka, where the air is as fresh as the bagels are tasty. That’s right, we’re talking about Frankie’s New York Bagels, the little slice of the Big Apple.

Now, what’s the secret behind these circular sensations? The owners have kneaded together a mix of love, tradition, and local flair to delicious bagels.

According to Henk Conn, our series host, stepping into Frankie’s is like teleporting to New York without the need for a plane ticket. The smell of freshly baked goods hits you like a yellow cab in rush hour, and the tastes? Oh, the tastes have your taste buds doing the Broadway shuffle!

Frankie’s website boasts, “All our baked goods are made by hand with love, using locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.”

So, whether you like your bagel with a schmear of cream cheese, a load of lox, or just plain as the day it was boiled and baked, Henk says that Frankie’s has got you covered.

See you at the next installment of our northwestern California series, where the people are as interesting as the places they inhabit! Meanwhile, let us know where you get your favorite bagels.
