Black Poets:

Caged Bird
BY MAYA ANGELOU
A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

Only bribed or blackmailed American politicians would promote spending further US treasure on what western media has said for months is a lost proxy war. Let’s hope Zelensky shares all the dirt he has when he arrives at the fast approaching capitulation. Or will western Intel eliminate him before he can talk?

How to win over Black voters. This is Trump at a campaign stop in Michigan.
“”We gotta watch Detroit. Boy-oh-boy-oh-boy,” he said. “They had such horrible abuse. You know they had more ballots — you know this — they had more ballots than they had voters. Do you know that? Gee. And they didn’t want to, you know, go into that.”

These latest remarks were simply Trump pushing the same racist nonsense he pushed after his failed campaign, accusing cities with large Black populations like Detroit of cheating him out of a victory over Joe Biden.

Guess we don’t need to worry about warming or sea level rise. Burn it if you got it.

Images shared by NASA show the U.S. East Coast is actually sinking – including the land that holds major cities like New York and Baltimore.

To distract from the failed Hunter hoax where the Rebublicans’ star (only) “witness” turned out to be a Russian agent and is now being charged with lying and creating a false record, Right-Wing trolls are inventing a migrant crime wave all without any evidence to show that migrants commit crimes at a rate higher than US citizens.
Are people really dumb enough to believe these racist lies?

So when Trump takes out a loan and pays it back with interest it’s a crime but when you take out a student loan and don’t pay it back, then Biden forgives the loan, steals money from the taxpayers to pay it back it’s not a crime.

Okay. 🤡

First thing fascists do is trample our Constitution

TYRANNY: “Biden has now unilaterally wiped away nearly $138 billion in federal student loans for almost 3.9 million borrowers without a single act of Congress. The student loan bailouts come after the U.S. Supreme Court blocked Biden’s initial debt cancelation plan last year, which would have cost more than $400 billion.

Conservatives have occasionally been linked to hate groups, including well-known organizations like the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazi factions. Additionally, vaccine hesitancy has been associated with conservatism. Historically, the modern conservative movement has sought to limit majority rule, fearing that widespread democratic movements could jeopardize their influence. Furthermore, conservatives tend to harbor reservations toward large segments of the population.”

It’s a crime for him to commit fraud when applying for the loan.

You either still don’t get it, work for the electoral-autocracy cabal, or maybe the Biden Admin ? The war Putin started was a short-term loser for him, a mid-term draw at best, and a long-term headache of major significance. A gift to Biden and NATO. The CCP’s Xi has surely noticed. Putin’s War has cost Russia over a Billion $ and counting. Russians are not happy about that, nor happy about their children’s missing limbs, the coming home in body bags. The longer Putin is stuck in a quagmire, the more it will cost him, the sooner Russians will come for him. And just what does Putin have on your boy, and I’m not talking RFK.

Looks like Kremlin was behind the Burisma Scandal BS, the effort, including here, to implicate Biden.

You are doing great work for cog-dec neo-con Biden. And when the Attack of the Crazies 2.0 kicks off, at Trump’s signal or that of his tools, they will be sent packing, crying in court, again, that “Trump-made-me-do-it”. They will the lucky one’s, the unlucky losing an eye, an ear, a limb, or going home in a bag. The US military works for the country, will abide by the Constitution.

You know Putin publically professed his preference for Biden ’24, right?

The Cloward-Piven Theory is a strategy devised in the 1960s to successfully provide welfare and attempt to solve political problems. The main steps of this strategy are to:

Overload a systemCreate mass panic and hysteria as the system is overloadedOversee the destruction of the systemReplace the former system with a new system

The Cloward-Piven Strategy of solving political problems can be compared to a forest fire.

Biden & Dems in action, starting forest fires!

You know Putin’s mention of Biden as preference is mind-phuckery, part of his long-game. Similar but different to him telling the American people, via Tucker, a cherry-picked Russian Hx lesson. (He wants yanks to join him in his victory world … cue the way oversold Nazi BS. You know, similar to the nazi blah you’ve spouted here ad nauseam). Putin is seeking ideological allies. Folk like yourself (the meme’s, for example, the many hundreds (thousands?) you’ve posted tell a story. Putin applauds, he has at least one local man, a star on Virus then HumCo Jail Report. Sure, some folk are uncomfortable… especially given conditioned by Putin’s online-influence campaign, plus snuggle-buds in the Fweedom Caucus. The $999+ Billion he’s spent on Ukraine suggests the US/EU/Nato layout is 20-30 cents to Putin’s dollar. Screaming deal given Ukraine has wanted to fight back, begging us for weapons and other support. Washington Post as of 4 weeks ago said this…

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/01/26/ukraine-war-plan-biden-defense/

It does not use the exact wording “lost war”, but it claims the Biden administration does not foresee Ukraine regaining lost territory. Apparently the plan is for the US taxpayers to fund a ‘forever war’ that would amount to a stalemate.

From my perspective, it looks like a lost war unless the US decides to escalate it. That, in my opinion, would almost certainly be a huge mistake.

Do you have some information to share that suggests the war is likely to end in a way that could be considered a victory for Ukraine?

D'Tucker Jebs

Reply to  I like stars

You’re right. It doesn’t say lost war because the article doesn’t suggest that Ukraine is losing the war.
I also never claimed that Ukraine was going to retake all the territory it has lost.
My comment was in response to Squirrely’s unfounded claim that the conflict in Ukraine is a “lost proxy war.”
Apparently Squirrely cound’t even find any evidence to support the claim either
Which causes me to wonder: Why make it in the first place?

Well there are some problems. For instance: trade school job graduates paying (subsidizing) loans for graduates with an absolutely worthless degree. Then there is: who is going to pay the professors six figures to produce worthless degrees. Then, of course, “an educated populace”? The stats for lower grades “Public Schools” are not encouraging- especially when translated into Free higher education “for everybody” is supposed to translate into an educated populace(whatever that is?). Any solutions?

D'Tucker Jebs
Member

There’s a lot to unpack there.
Where to start?
Worthless degrees? No such thing:
While some degrees are tailored to educate a person for a career in a particular field, others are more meant to provide a general broadening of skills and are mostly used to demonstrate to a future employer that a prospective employee is capable of committing to, and completing, a complicated task.

The first place I’d go to get the money to fund expanded higher education would be the $880 billion military budget.
Of course, higher taxes on the wealthy could also be an option, but I know how triggering that subsect can be for some people.

And what to do about our underperforming public schools…
Well, how much time you got?
There are many, many problems with public education.
But, to head anyone off at the pass:
no, it has nothing to do with teachers teaching kids how to be gay,
or with teachers waving dildos in front of kindergarteners.

We can agree that there are plenty of folks out there with a degree that are unable to pay off the expense they took on to get that degree. Then there are folks that took out loans and failed to obtain a degree. A whole bunch of people as demonstrated by the $ number representing loan debt. I can’t help noticing how that might fit into “worthless” degrees and Universities/ Professors providing opportunities into job markets. Likewise, taking out a loan for a degree that was never obtained, might be considered a problem for the people who get stuck with the bill for the fail. I understand your view on funding – as in there are never enough taxes to appropriate even if it fixes nothing. The proverbial “throwing money at it”. As far as problems with public education? Help me to understand how poor lower education results translate into higher or even adequate results at a Public (so-called free) University or College. I’m thinking there must be some adequate merit based criteria?

D'Tucker Jebs
Member

We can agree that, even with a degree, it can be very difficult to secure gainful empoyment.
But that doesn’t mean that the degree is the problem.
I also totally agree that a high school diploma should be merit-based.
That is why I included job training in my response.
Not everyone is college material. And that’s fine.
A high schooler with no college ambitions should not have to sit through classes on algebra or Shakespeare (uness they want to.)
High schools should offer a basic-level diploma that ensure that kids can read, write, and do basic math. But the focus of their schooling should be on job-training and life skills.
Allowing kids who want to go to college to be in classes with other kids who want to go to college, and without the distractions caused by the kids who do not want to be there, will help the college-bound kids to be more successful too.

The Biden administration has announced it is cancelling $1.2bn (£949m) of student debt for 153,000 American borrowers.

“The Supreme Court had previously blocked President Joe Biden’s plan to cancel student debt for over 40 million Americans.
This announcement only applies to those enrolled in a specific repayment plan who meet certain requirements.
Those affected will be notified and it will be applied automatically.
The announcement from the White House on Wednesday only applies to those enrolled in the voluntary Saving on a Valuable Education (Save) repayment plan who have been making payments for at least 10 years and who originally borrowed $12,000 or less for school.
It will “particularly help community college and other borrowers with smaller loans and put many on track to being free of student debt faster than ever before”, the White House said in a statement.
According to the Department of Education, 7.5 million people are enrolled in the repayment programme, which was created by the Biden administration.”

Cronies, donors, and kickbacks- typical Dem. And not even asking for proof they’re illegal immigrants, what could go wrong?
#BreakingNews: The City Council is demanding an investigation into Mayor Eric Adams’ (@ericadamsfornyc) plan to provide $10K debit cards to illegal immigrants. The $53M contract with Mobility Capital Finance, a company touted by Adams as “Minority Owned,” raises concerns about the fees for services, such as a $125K one-time setup fee, $250K in annual management fees, and additional charges of up to $4M for the money distributed.

Councilmember Gale Brewer is questioning the absence of ID checks, fraud control measures, and restrictions on the cards. Additionally, there are concerns about the lack of a competitive bidding process for the contract and the mayor’s possible connection to the firm

China has not managed that much peace. And that is with their long standing elimination of anyone who is not Han. Well I guess there is hardly anyone as knowledgeable about genocide as the NPR since they have practiced it for centuries.
In Chinese state media, Uyghurs, like Tibetans, are subject to typecasting. They are often labelled as either terrorists or as a people who are too busy singing and dancing to cause issues. In May 2013, Shi Dagang, Xinjiang’s deputy governor, claimed that Uyghurs are a “simple hearted and honest, very kind and unaffected” people who “love guests” and treat them to “meat and wine with song and dance”. The comments came after 21 people died in the region in another outburst of ethnic violence.” They got rhythm!

“U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield countered by saying the United States understands the council’s desire for urgent action but believes the resolution would “negatively impact” sensitive negotiations on a hostage deal and pause in fighting for at least six weeks. If that happens, “we can take the time to build a more enduring peace,” she said.
The proposed U.S. resolution, Thomas-Greenfield said, “would do what this text does not — pressure Hamas to take the hostage deal that is on the table and help secure a pause that allows humanitarian assistance to reach Palestinian civilians in desperate need.”
She told reporters later that the Arab draft did not link the release of the hostages to a cease-fire, which would give Hamas a halt to fighting without requiring it to take any action. That would have mean “that the fighting would have continued because without the hostage releases we know that the fighting is going to continue,” she said.
Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan said the word cease-fire is used in the Security Council, the General Assembly and by UN officials “as if it is a silver bullet, a magical solution to all of the region’s problems.”
He called that “an absurd notion,” warning that a cease-fire in Gaza would enable Hamas to rearm and regroup and “their next attempted genocide against Israelis will only be a question of when, not if.” He pointed to Hamas statements vowing to repeat the atrocities of Oct. 7 “again and again and again until Israel is destroed.”

How many times has the US vetoed a UN Ceasefire Resolution…??? 3…??? 2…???

More than once anyway, but EVERY TIME.

And Linda Thomas-Greenfield is also a complete joke…

They are apparently only doing their jobs well, if they are actually trying intentionally to fail, and their job is actually assuring that a ceasefire in Gaza will actually be prevented.

They have reached an impasse, and that is where they have every intention of staying.

And exactly how would the UN Security Council enforce a ceasefire?

By sending French military cooks and the lone German Frigate with a rusty anchor.

The entire conflict could be resolved by this tme next week if the US insisted that Israel allow Palestine to become a functioning soveriegn state.

Functioning ? Not in my lifetime. They may one day join the family of nations but as a failed state requiring continued financial aid. Sort of an Arab version of Haiti. Their rabid hatred of the Jews will ensure a dismal future.

Could it be that Israel’s decaeds-old policies of subjugation and land seizurs are what turned Palestine into a failed state?
And, could it be that until Israel changes course and allows Palewstine to become a functioning state, Palestine will continue to be a failed state and the Palestinians will continue to have, what at least in their minds is, a justified hatred of Israel?
(To suggest that there is a general hatred of Jews is, I think, overly broad.)

Well, the Zionists killed the last UN representative to try that. One of leaders of the assassins later became Prime Minister of the European Palestine occupier.
Shook hands with US presidents. Had dinner in the White House.

The killing was approved by the three-man ‘center’ of Lehi: Yitzhak Yezernitsky (the future Prime Minister of IsraelYitzhak Shamir)

Go figure.

How many kilos Biden Bombs does it take to kill a man/woman/ child?

Israel has dropped 65,000 tons of explosives on Gaza. This is equivalent of 28 kilograms of explosives on Gaza for every civilian, woman, and child.

We know, Squirrely.
That’s why my comment is advocating for peace in the region.
We also know your paranoid delusional hatred of Biden, but it’s not just him.
Congress is the one that approves the blank-check funding for Israel.
And this has happened, not only during the Biden administration,
but also during Trump, Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, etc, etc.

Can you just give it a rest for a bit?

Yeah, and Iran (who sponsored Hamas) will no longer create conflict for Israel. “The entire conflict COULD (insert any other comment weasel word here) be resolved…”

I didn’t mention it this time, but every comment I’ve made on this subject in the past included my belief that the Arab League should be a huge part of helping Palestine to become a peaceful and prosperous nation.

That’s a pretty unrealistic at this time. Arab League: Saudi Arabia – fighting Yemen (Iranian Proxies), Jordan – tossed the Palestinians out of their country . They likely trust Israel more. Egypt- building a wall to keep Palestinians out. Syria is aligned with Russia et al – who has ties with Iran, most recently because of the Ukraine debacle. The area is a mess! Biden’s meddling smacks more of political liabilities because of an election year. He was supportive to Israel until… Progressive Democrats started telling their supporters not to vote for Biden. Biden was supportive of Israel until the Suez Canal came into play. Suddenly Western Europe and the New World Order “friends” started twisting the screws on Joe. Biden: I was for the war before I was against the war. Smacks of the same BS as the border. No, no the border isn’t open. Election year and after 7.2 million came across in his three years… Oh, the border needs to be closed – except those darn Maga Republicans. What… govt. money that used to come my way in Chicago now going to shelters etc. for the border crossers (now a local issue – that not fair). It fools nobody – even the “true believers that are so loud here” – know that! Arab League? Sure… Iran and their proxies are specifically designed to ensure no peace for the area as long as Israel exists. Prosperity? Plenty of that but limited to the Iran and Proxies. It’s your money and support that prolong endless war for this area. That’s not lost on Israel.

SPACE
Scientists have found a black hole so large it eats the equivalent of one sun per day.

An illustration provided by the European Southern Observatory in February 2024 depicts the record-breaking quasar J059-4351, the bright core of a distant galaxy that is powered by a supermassive black hole.

Ex Presidents don’t have immunity? No statute of limitations on murder so any Republican DOJ could charge Obama?

Obama ordered 563 drone strikes that killed approximately 3,797 people.

One of his first CIA drone strikes was at a funeral, murdering 41 innocent Pakistani civilians.

He has never been charged or held accountable, instead, he was given the Nobel “Peace” prize.

If we all chipped in and got you an argumentative parrot,
would you then be willing to direct your off-topic Bidenphobic rantings at it
instead of rudely interrupting threads that have nothing whatsoever to do with Biden or even politics in general?

Unless you want the likes of E-pock Times, Hindustan Times and national enquirer-level rags in your newsfeed, don’t click on gatewaypundit, brietbart, rumble and maybe even certain Twitter links. How they slip the needle in, spread the virus, rot the brain.

Both NBC and Politico are reporting Biden is considering unilateral executive action to close the wide open border.

Democrats have laughably tried to blame Republicans in Congress for the border crisis while Democrats paid nonprofits to smuggle illegal immigrants into the US.

And today’s admission proves Biden has had the ability to unilaterally end the border crisis at any point.

Biden’s Open Border policy is generating backlash before the election

Republican schizophrenia:
–Obama used Executive Orders too much to bypass Congress! That’s bad! President should be weaker!
–Tdump using even more Executive Orders, is just fine. President should be more powerful!
–Biden using Executive Orders too much to bypass Congress! That’s bad! President should be weaker!
— and now Republicans not wanting to pass legislation on immigration to boost Tdump’s chances is just fine because Biden can just use Executive Orders to bypass Congress.

It’s the same bullshit as the Republicans not considering a Supreme Court nominee from Obama 9 months before an election because it’s too soon and then approving a Tdump nominee a few weeks before an election because that’s okay.

The Schumer border offer assured 2 million illegals a year before Biden needed to even think about controlling the border, then no allowed Biden to decide to keep border wide open “in national interest”. And it would have tied the hands of next President assuring 2 million illegals/yr after Biden. That bill was wolf in sheep’s clothing

They say a dog mirrors their owner and now replacement dog Commander has been sent to glue factory after biting staff 24 times, same as Biden’s 1st dog sent on the long ride over the river. Biden shouldn’t be allowed pets or near children

The glue factory?

But I wouldn’t expect you to stop handing out misinformation.

And there have never been reports of Biden biting staff.

Check the label of that bottle your drinking out of.

Kym, I say this with love:

Is it possible to institute a rate limit for individual commenters? I don’t mind the peanut gallery so much, but there are 3 or 4 who are single handedly responsible for the overwhelming majority of posts on some articles. Just something like a max of 5 posts per hour (or less)?

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but the squabbling overflows into other articles at times and gets out of hand. I understand the bookings posts are a containment thread of sort, but it would be nice if there was a limit on quantity. I just feel that it might lead to better quality discussion.

Thanks.
