Weather conditions permitting, Green Diamond Resource Company plans to conduct
for fuel hazard reduction in Sproul Creek, Big Lagoon, and the Willow Creek areas…Tuesday January 30. Burning operations are implemented in coordination with CAL FIRE and the North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District. Please note that smoke may be visible in surrounding areas, including the towns of Willow Creek and Garberville, Highway 101, Highway 299 and Sproul Creek Road, while prescribed burning activities are being conducted. Green Diamond staff will be on site monitoring prescribed burning and fuels reduction operations.

They should burn more this time of year!
No nest or baby critters to burn up. Late spring an summer are a different story.
The fuels are wet enough right now that the winds are likely necessary to even get them to burn. Especially with the rain forecast for tonight, in terms of safety of keeping it under control this is perfect timing.
I know green diamond gave up out in sproul creek because it’s too wet, go figure..
