Anti-Semitic Hate Crime Occurs at Cal Poly

Anti-Semitic vandalism of a Jewish Student Group tent.

Story content generously shared with us by the Mad River Union:

As Israel and Palestine erupted into violence after an attack by Hamas militants on Saturday that killed hundreds of civilians, possible signs of rising tensions locally are appearing in Humboldt County. On Monday, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the University Police Department (UPD) received a report concerning anti-Semitic graffiti found on a Jewish Student Union tent situated in the Quad. The tent had been set up on campus in honor of a Jewish holiday celebrated at the end of September. Cal Poly confirmed to the Mad River Union that the graffiti reads, “FREE PALESTINE FUCK ISRAEL.” Though the latest incident occurs closely following the opening shots of a new outbreak of violence in the Gaza Strip, Humboldt County had several incidents of anti-Semitic activity last year. (See here and here.)

A campus community notification about incident states:

…UPD is reviewing security footage that shows an unidentified suspect next to the tent at approximately 1:30 p.m. The suspect is described as a heavy set white male who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants.

The University does not tolerate acts of hate or discrimination directed at any member of the campus community or the destruction of property.  UPD is committed to investigating and prosecuting  hate crimes to the fullest extent of the law.  If you witness acts of vandalism, any suspicious activity related to this incident, or have information about the suspect, please contact UPD at (707) 826-5555.

“The Dean of Students has reached out to members of the Jewish Student Union to offer support.

Thursday afternoon, Cal Poly Humboldt provided this additional note to the campus community:

Supporting The Lumberjack Community During Difficult Times

Dear Campus Community,

We are deeply saddened by the horrific violence and loss of life in Israel and Gaza, and our sympathies go out to those who have been impacted by the conflict.

The intent of this message is to acknowledge that significant world events and crises often hit close to home for members of our campus and local communities.

As a community, we are committed to keeping safe our students, staff, and faculty of all religions, ethnicities, genders and gender identities, and other protected groups. There is no place at the University for acts of hate or discrimination, and we will continue to work together to foster a learning and working environment where we can all feel safe, included, and respected.
We understand this may be a distressing time. Should you need additional support, please know that resources are available.
Students:
    • If you need to speak to a counselor, you can contact Counseling & Psychological Services at (707) 826-3236 during business hours. Telehealth (including an immediate “TalkNow” session) is available 24/7 through TimelyCare. Additional information about counseling services and self-help resources can be found at the Counseling & Psychological Services’ website.
    • If you need help connecting to these resources, contact the CARE team.

Employees:

Maintaining open, respectful dialogue and offering support is not only healthy, but also encouraged. It’s also important to show compassion for one another during this difficult time. Listening and learning with empathy makes us stronger as individuals and as a community.

600 Black Lives Matter riots that resulted in billions of dollars in damage and 30 people murdered (during lockdown), that’s free speech. Armed antifa attacking people, firebombing buildings and taking over sections of cities, that’s free speech (because they are leftists). Criticism of any of this on the other hand is racist hate speech, see how that works?

Yes, thank you for your analysis. People who protest accomplish nothing. All the fossil protesters are getting their ass kicked by people they block on the road. They are the enemy. Enviros are the enemy. Your kids going hungry is the result of environazis causing prices so high, it effects your ability to buy food or energy. Fuck earth first

Well. Someone might have tried to say the obvious. Don’t demonize people of Jewish background. Not everyone is a Zionist extremist. Zionism like other extreme ideologies do not care about anyone and has coopted our government for it’s own genocidal ends. In 2018 the International Criminal Court was threatened by our own government against moving on Israel for war crimes well documented. And not so long ago this President, now our executive, on video stated his allegiance as a Zionist.

People lash out. It’s unfortunate. Worst still to have our nation embroiled in promoting apartheid.

Remember the USS Liberty, 9-11 (dancing Israelis and a gaggle of neocon facists), Epstein and Mossad. Agendas never in our interest.

There’s no connection between former President Trump and neo fascists.
The temptation to draw parallels between Trump and the fascist leaders of the 20th century is understandable. How better to express the fear, loathing and contempt that Trump arouses in liberals than by comparing him to the ultimate political evil? But few who have described Trump as a fascist can be called real experts in the field, not even Snyder. The majority of genuine specialists, including the historians Roger Griffin, Matthew Feldman, Stanley Payne and Ruth Ben-Ghiat, agree that whatever else he is, Trump is not a fascist.

Ok I’m Jewish. My closest friends are Israeli.
Don’t confuse Judaism with the government of Israel. Israeli fascists would love that.
Yeah, Zionism is extreme. It was. Zionism was exploited by Great Britain and the USA in a cynical move to keep Jews moving out of Europe, and maintain a post colonial beach head in Palestine. Palestinian refugees have been left high and dry by Arab States. Jewish refugees that Israel welcomed in historically could appreciate the cruel irony.
It’s a huge history to crunch into a comment.
Calling this a hate crime is overwrought. It’s part and parcel with contemporary Israeli government’s campaign of Once-our-Forfathers-were-victims-we-can-do-no-wrong. Same as Nazi Germany post WWI. Same as ’90s Serbia. Same as Hamas.
Remember: a twenty year old Palestinian knows the world we’ve given them since 2003.
We’re all born innocent.

Same as the US Confederacy after the Civil War but no one sympathizes with flying the Stars and Bars. The nature of opposition defines the moral ground it occupies. And Hamas, Palestinians and most Arabs chose their ground. Even after being elected to Congress, they keep choosing terrorism.

The history of the Confederacy has been revised and sugar coated. The people in the South were never consolidated socially or politically. Natives died, poor white Europeans rebelled, and ran away, and then you had slaves. The rich planters were always scared. Scots and Irish West of the coastal plain hated the elite Gentry who devised secession.

What the heck was sugar coated? It was the Union that was “never consolidated socially or politically.” Most of the Union Army was poor men who were desperate for work.

Unlike the Union, where the army was formed mostly from poor people looking to get a livelihood, the “Confederacy, therefore, this was not a poor man’s fight. Slaveholders, among the richest in the South, served in disproportionally high numbers in Lee’s army. Believing that slavery was under attack, they flocked to the cause. ” Yeah, they were pretty united, especially when the war was taken tontheir homes.

https://www.historynet.com/did-the-poor-really-fight-the-civil-war/

You don’t think the US has generational hatreds handed down from the Civil War? You don’t think women and children weren’t killed? “The campaign began on November 15 with Sherman’s troops leaving Atlanta, recently taken by Union forces, and ended with the capture of the port of Savannah on December 21. His forces followed a “scorched earth” policy, destroying military targets as well as industry, infrastructure, and civilian property, disrupting the Confederacy’s economy and transportation networks. ”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman's_March_to_the_Sea

“Damned Yankee” was one of the polite ways that anyone not from the South heard directed at them until very recently. No, as was previously said, the morality of the ground for fighting determines the sympathy.

Most would just like to get along with Israel. They also get alot of support form Iran. Iran just go another $6,000,000,000 OKed for humanitarian relief use, they say. But now are challenging Obiden to halt the payments.

If you think Palestine should be free you dont know the Jews lived there in permanent colonies long before the nomads became landlocked.

1300 dead. And these anti Israelis are happy about this…..

He said the number of Americans killed in Israel was now at least 27, and those missing were at least 14.
The Americans are stuck in Gaza as the Israel Defense Forces are preparing for a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip against Hamas terrorists who committed the attack on Saturday that left more than *******1,300 dead****** and over 3,300 wounded.
There are an estimated 200 hostages that were captured and taken back to the Gaza Strip. The Biden administration has confirmed that 27 Americans were killed in the attacks.

Gaza is going to be a graveyard very soon. The radicals use the population as human shields. So go ahead and have your free palistin rally at the public school.

If only anything on the face of the earth was as simple as the victimology of the modern liberal… from what is Palestine to be made free of? Hamas says “The original Charter identified Hamas as the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine and declares its members to be Muslims who “fear God and raise the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors.” The charter states that “our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious” and calls for the eventual creation of an Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and the obliteration or dissolution of Israel.”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas_Charter

Nothing unclear about that and Netanyahu is not mentioned once.

A little bit of history
Before Israel, there was a British mandate, not a Palestinian state.
-To the British Mandate
existed the Ottoman Empire, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Ottoman Empire, there was the Mamlyuk Islamic State of Egypt, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Islamic State of Mamlyuk of Egypt, the Empire of Ayubid existed, not the Palestinian State. Goffrey IV of Bulonsky, known as Godfrey de Bouillon, conquered Jerusalem in 1099
-Before the Empire of Ayubid, there existed the French and Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the empires of Omeyad and Fatimid existed, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the empires of the Omeyad and Fatimid, there was the Byzantine Empire, not the Palestinian State. -Before the Byzantine Empire, there was the Roman Empire, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Roman Empire, there was the Hasmonees State, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Hasmoneysk state, it was the Selevkid state, not the Palestinian state.
-Before the Selevkid Empire, there existed the Empire of Alexander of Macedonia, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Empire of Alexander of Macedonia, there was the Persian Empire, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Persian Empire, there was the Babylon Empire, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Babylon Empire, there existed the Kingdoms of Israel and Judea, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Kingdoms of Israel and Judea, the Kingdom of Israel existed, not the Palestinian State.
-Before the Kingdom of Israel, there was a theocracy of the twelve knees of Israel, not the Palestinian state.
-Before the twelve generations of Israel’s theocracy, there was an agglomeration of independent Canaan cities-empires, not the Palestinian state.
In fact, this piece of earth was everything EXCEPT THE PALESTINE STATE.

In fact, you’re wrong. Starting at the top, with British mandate, called Palestine, it was a Muslim/Arab dominated area. Ending with reality, how’d they sneak in there and build the Al Aqsa mosque if Muslims were never in control of the region. Your revisionist and not remotely factual attempt at history is a joke. Yes, the term Palestinian is a modern creation, but to ignore the historically dominating presence of Muslim/Arab/Islamic/Bedouin cultures is a joke.

The idea of a Jewish state for Jewish people in this exact region is a 100-150 year old idea that only received international support after Jewish terrorists won a civil war post holocaust. Prior to that, my people were mostly pretty well content to be in the diaspora, except for the occasional pogrom.

Stop believing what your bible, Torah, or Qoran tells you is history.

Wow, that’s really odd… the Palestinians had been living there for about 2,000 years.
Brits gave the Turks (Ottoman’s) land away during WWI in exchange for Jewish war money.
Brits/French won WWI… then broke up the Mid East as part of an ‘new empire’.
French got Lebanon and Syria. Brits got the rest.
During the ‘mandate’ Jews started raising hell with the British. Attacks on the military, In WWII a Jewish group offered to fight with the Nazi’s against the British. Stern Gang [Lehi] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lehi_(militant_group)
(Yitzhak Shamir the leader of the group after WWII, later had dinner in the White House)
After WWII, the Jews imported massive amounts of Nazi (and other) weaponry. Bombed the King David hotel. (Menachem Begin the leader of the terrorist attack, had dinner the White House later on.)
Nice article in (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing)
Inter-village conflicts broke out. Jews staged a few ‘massacres’ and paraded captive Palestinians in the back of trucks through Jerusalem. That created fear and most Palestinians abandoned their homes in advance of advancing Jewish paramilitaries.
Israel then claimed the homes and land for Jews, and the people who fled their homes were ‘stateless’ and not allowed to return.
And that’s were we (world) is at… a massive problem that continues to this day.
Most Americans have completely no idea about the ‘recent’ history of Palestine.
Everyone should read the Wiki articles.

Really? “Brits gave the Turks (Ottoman’s) land away during WWI in exchange for Jewish war money?” In what piece of anti Semitic YouTube did you get that?

The British promised that Palestine would be Islamic in the McMahon-Hussein correspondence, 1915-16. Done apparently to gain Arab (not Ottoman of course) support of Muslims in India and keep control of the Suez Canal.

Subsequently the British promised the Zionists that they would have a Jewish State when they became leery of the “risk of local Arabs, if they didnt actually run the show themselves, either allowing or inviting their co-religionist Turks back in, thereby making nonsense of all Britains war efforts in the Levant and once again threatening her strategic power in the region.”

The British had the dilemma of having promised everything to both parties and the Balfour Declaration was the attempt to wiggle out of the hash they made of trying to keep their Empire.

That typical anti Semitic nonsense about Jews buying anything is simply repeating age old Shakespeare’s bigoty. For a list of massacres by both parties prior to the creation of Israel you’ll see is not just the cherry picked one you used.

Does it occur to you that the statements about “20% of Israeli citizenship is islamic” and “Bibi…band of fascists” directly contradict each other? Today’s leftists have no problem with stating equality in one sentence and so-called “fascism” in the next.
I was a leftist– and proud of it — when leftists thought for themselves. Now I giggle at their pretense and lack of both logic and ideals. They seem to just go around repeating democrat talking points and calling people “fascists.” (Quick quiz: Who voted in Hamas? Yep. And who cancelled elections after that? Yep.)
Bonus question: Write a 500-word essay on the definition of fascism and how the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu put him in that category. Be sure to name names and explain what/who is meant by the phrase “his band of…”
(For extra credit, write a paragraph telling why the merging of BigGov and BigDisinfo in the USA fall into Benito Mussolini’s definition of “fascism” and explain why today’s left is pro, rather than anti-fascist.)

Equating the direct descendants of the children of god who live peacefully with, work with, go to school with, are friends with, have marriages with and hang out with Palestinian Arabs who live within the current boundaries of Israel or go back and forth daily from Gaza versus the Nazi sympathizing trolls who live in Gaza and America is no comparison. Anybody ask what these peaceful Palestinian Arabs think? Hell no, it would blow the Democrat narrative of equivalencies. Can a Jew live in Gaza? I think everyone knows that answer. It appears the Democrat Party in America has a major problem on their hands with Nazis lurking in their midsts. Like I said previously, nobody likes Nazis, therefore, Never Forget means the Israelis will hunt them down wherever they lurk. There is nowhere to hide for animals who cut pregnant ladies belly’s open, remove the unborn infant, stab the baby, and then stab the mom. The IDF found the dead infants still attached by the umbilical cord to their dead mother. The Nazi Storm Troopers did this exact same thing! . BTW, where is Antifa hiding? BLM already showed who they support using a Hamas paraglider as their new motif. Still gonna hang your BLM sign on your window Democrat Party adherents?
