South Fork High School Celebrates Scholarship Recipients
Press release from the Southern Humboldt Unified School District:
On the evening of May 31, 2023 South Fork High School held their Annual Senior Awards Night. Seniors who have excelled in their classes were given awards by their teachers. Those that are Associated Student Body Officers received white cords to wear at graduation, gold cords went to those that qualified as Golden State Seal Recipients, and red cords went to seniors who have donated blood at least three times. Seniors that have completed a Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway (three courses in Wood or Metal, or two courses in Product Innovation) received their CTE Pathway Completer certificates.Twenty-five businesses and local service clubs awarded over $55,000 in scholarships to seniors towards their pursuit of higher education goals. Thank you to all who came to present and to the businesses and clubs that support our students. Congratulations to the seniors (and their parents) who received awards and scholarships. We are proud of your accomplishments and know you will go out and do great things in the world.
Note: SHUSD Superintendent, Stephanie Steffano-Davis, said, since the issuance of this press release, an additional $15K in scholarships has been awarded to South Fork High School seniors.
