[Caution: Photos, Viewer Discretion Advised] CHP Responds to Deceased Individual Located in Center Divider of Highway 101

The witness stated that CHP officers were standing near what appeared to be a body under a yellow tarp [inside] the center divider guardrail of Highway 101 under an overpass.
At that time, we reached out for additional information from the Humboldt office of CHP.
This afternoon we received photos of the incident from Joseph Hernandez confirming the presence of the Humboldt County Coroner along Highway 101 under the 7th Street overpass.
At the time of this publication, we are awaiting further information about this incident from CHP-Humboldt.

Early one Sunday morning I saw a stiff by the side of the freeway near San Leandro. Coroner`s van & a CHP there. It looked like someone pitched him off an overpass. Likely someone killed him, then threw him off the overpass.
Could be a murder
Could be uicide
could be a hit and run
could be a drug OD
could have died of natural causes while camping.
Not enough info to know.
A”stiff”? Really? If it was your mother would you say that?
I might. I did not have any relationship at all with her for her last 34 years.
How disrespectful to refer to a human body as a stiff…that was soneone’s child, brother, sister, aunt, etc.
Im sure he didnt mean it disrespectful. Hazard from the job, some ppl who around this type of stuff just gets used to talking that way. They just dont realize how it sounds. I agree with you though, i sae the pictures then read the comments and that was the first one I read and it was sorta creepy.

I wonder if the person driving even knew they hit a person, or it was “what the hell was that” moments? I remember an incident like that a couple years ago. The driver did not realize they hit a person and thought it was a deer until the news story came out. They called CHP and turned themselves in.
And then there was that politician in North Dakota who hit a man who ended up stuck in his windshield, drove home with the body, claimed he thought he hit a deer. The victim’s glasses ended up on the front seat. That should have been a hint.
I am almost positive I saw this this morning at about 6:35 all I could see was the back lying on his side wearing white or gray and black just off of the pavement. I convinced myself it was part of a bumper shroud and didn’t call the cops mainly because I didn’t want to use 911 to report a big piece of plastic. Creepy now reading this.
That sounds uncomfortable. Probably all of us have passed a deceased person without knowing. Its sad to think of someone being gone from the Universe unknown and unacknowledged. You might wanna let LE know what you saw in the morning. It might help them identify the car in security cameras or jog a neighbor’s memory.

Under a tarp, on top of a guardrail, under an overpass…….so the body was under a tarp, balanced on top of a guardrail and all of this was under an overpass…..Wait…..What…..
So we are talking about seperate incident on successive day. One on the sixth, the other on the 7th.
This man is my brother. He has been homeless in CA for over a decade. He is a loving pet owner and I know a few friends who know him closely, follow these comments. I would love to have contact with who ever has his dogs, and any one close to him. The pictures, comments and facts- are heart wrenching to our family. You all have NO idea who he was. Let him rest in peace, for once. The person who did this needs to be found and handled appropriately, he is DEAD from their recklessness.
