Report of a Stabbing on Brannan Mountain West of Willow Creek

StabbingJust before 7 p.m. Friday, the emergency communication center received a 911 call stating that a 30-year-old female had been stabbed in the head in the 3600 block of Brannan Mountain Road west of Willow Creek. (Later, reports from law enforcement over the scanner indicated that the victim did not have serious injuries.)

The suspect who had fled from the home was a juvenile family member of the victim, according to dispatch relaying information from the scene to a deputy responding.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, the victim was uncooperative with law enforcement.

Then, just before 8 p.m., a deputy told dispatch over the scanner, “A possible suspect rearrived on scene.”

Eventually, the juvenile was detained and taken from the area. The victim did not go to the hospital and requested no further action be taken against the juvenile.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

Sadly, he’s taking it as seriously as the victim did.

The people that live in the hills in Humboldt are, in my experience, some of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve met in this county. It wasn’t until I started coming down the hill into Eureka/Fortuna/Arcata that humanity really started letting me down…

A bigot might say it. Perhaps someone who knows deep down that they’re not a very good person and needs to put down others to feel better about themselves.

You guys are all on here complaining about the person that made a joke, why? The own victim doesn’t want to correct the negligence of the juvenile. If the victim is going to be uncooperative with police and cause an issue herself, who gives a crap.

Very well said. Thank you. Lighten up folks! This is one incident among a great many, and it will not be the last. Perhaps some ridicule is what people need. Hopefully the responding agencies send them the bill.

Because next time there’s dead bodies and a car chase or maybe another apartment fire.
