Woman Arrested for Battery with Great Bodily Injury to a Ukiah Police Officer

Press release from the Ukiah Police Department:Ukiah Police badge from Ukiah Police website

On 5/23/23, UPD Officers responded to the intersection of W. Perkins St. and S. School St. for a report of a female transient causing a disturbance. Upon arrival a solo officer contacted the suspect, Rachael Seivertson.

Seivertson was known to this officer from numerous prior contacts. She was a known transient in Ukiah and was known to be on CDC parole for robbery.

The officer considered Seivertson’s behavior to be erratic. The officer attempted to speak with her, but she could not engage in a normal conversation. Her body was fidgety and she could not form a normal/reasonable sentence. The officer suspected she was under the influence of a stimulant, most likely methamphetamine.

While attempting to speak with Seivertson, she stood up and attempted to walk away. She walked less than 10 feet away and the officer took a few steps to follow her. Seivertson quickly stopped, bent over and picked up a large rock which was placed on the curb. Seivertson then quickly spun around and threw the rock into the officer’s face, colliding with the officer’s left side of his upper lip. Seivertson then continued to punch the officer on the face. The officer immediately started bleeding heavily but was able to wrestle Seivertson to the ground. While on the ground, Seivertson was placed on her stomach and handcuffed.

The rock was recovered at the scene. The rock weighed approximately 8 pounds and was about the size of a football.

The officer was transported to the emergency room via ambulance. He suffered a laceration on his upper lip which required 6 stiches. Seivertson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, battery with great bodily injury on a peace officer and a parole violation. She was booked at the Mendocino County Jail.

The Ukiah Police Department would like to thank the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Bailiffs who ran to assist the officer and assist in the handcuffing of Seivertson.

As always, UPD’s mission is to make Ukiah as safe a place as possible. If you would like to know more about crime in your neighborhood, you can sign up for telephone, cellphone, and email notifications by clicking the Nixle button on our website; www.ukiahpolice.com.

What would that accomplish exactly? You believe police should be able to assault people after they are under control? Perhaps you should move to another country where freedoms are less protected.

What do you think we should do with worthless non contributing members of society?

Also a lot of these folks have been rejected by “society”. I’m one of them, I contribute a lot to my local community but beyond that to me our society is sick and why feed the beast?

Is working a minimum wage job for a giant corporation that uses its power and wealth to actively erode my rights and ability to survive as a laborer contributing to “society” or is it just contributing to a larger problem?

McDonald’s is famous for putting out a budgeting handbook that says if you are working full time at McDonald’s then you need to get a second job to pay the bills and barely scrape by with no chance of moving up in society, I.e no time to learn trades/skills or further your education just be a slave to the corporate machine.

I’m just curious if you have any ideas beyond assaulting people as a response to being assaulted. It’s a tough question that I don’t have any easy answers for.

You seem to enable drug addicts and criminals and don’t like America. Perhaps you’d be happier if you relocated to Russia, North Korea or even Iran…

McDonalds employment is for teenagers with adult managers. Teenagers, minimum wage, managers, a fairly decent living.Ever heard of a first job? If you haven’t and are an able bodied adult who complains about working , I would say stop taking jobs from teenagers and young adults or stop complaining about your starter wage and suck it up. Complainers merit no sympathy. It’s your problem, not anybody else’s. What is with Humboldt s lack of first jobs for kids? Hmmm, I wonder. Neil Armstrong didn’t go to the moon bitching about washing dishes.

Ms. Seivertson appears to be the perfect example of someone who needs to be housed in a locked facility, for her benefit as well as ours.

Don’t complain about our streets resembling open air insane asylums where deranged and violent people roam free unless you’re ready to require treatment and/or confinement for those too mentally unstable or addicted to maintain minimal standards of behavior.

Yeah, yeah, good luck with that socialism you’re proposing.
I’m ancient.
I remember when we had mental health facilities and care.
Not just one “gated” community per 800,000 citizens.
Oops. sorry.
Didn’t mean to use the, “C”-word.

If you take a peek at her booking photo the arched neck, the twisted face, clear signs of distress from an internal source. She needs to be protected from the world and herself at this point. Prison isn’t going to solve anything nor protect her any better. Have noiticed her running down State Street screaming, high kicking, ranting.100% she needs to live as a conserved soul. Has been in the booking log far too many times. Probation and programs have done NADA of worth to resolve her situation. Even if a person is using substances who in the hell would party or share drugs when shes all agro? How? Someone comes at me all slideways and whacked out as heck we aint hanging out. DAMN.
Mendo needs mental health permanent housing, like 5 years ago. 10 million we poured into an empty mental health crisis center. Okay.

Headline should read:
‘patriarchy oppresses pagan goddess!’
There’s a fine line between alone and all one, Pastor Sarah Baraielles once said..JK
I can’t breathe! Lewinsky once said..
.. under the rubric of systemic oppression and delorian periphery!
‘There’s no place to pee!’
-the slogan of our time..
A nation hangs in the balance with no bathrooms, and no pride in janitorial work..
give me Cal-Fresh or give me death!
commerce probably can’t cure the mental illness its luxuries produce..
we can patent diseases like soda and candy?
‘The free market is an ass, it has no conscience’..
-MS

These things and more lead to a world where last centuries interned wife can become todays raving mad meth Barbie.
Eventually we’re gonna have to tighten down these screws that have become too loose.
Make homelessness embarrassing again!

Huh? What? Could you somehow repeat that incoherent rant in a manner that makes even a tiny bit of sense please? Like, it’s a good thing this unhinged woman didn’t attack a child, a senior, anybody she could have killed with that big rock. Good god almighty!

My point, kind sir, is that this assailant should be interned through force, in a inhospitable labor camp, to rid us of this mammalian monstrosity.
The social empaths have had their chance to solve the problem but it’s only getting worse.
The cacophony of my commentary deftly co-opts progressive tropes hitherto deployed with creative derision.
Perhaps a juvenile but playful upending of progressive theory through intellectual sabotage?
Only Chomsky knows..
Clearly this woman, like all these useless men littering american downtowns, should not have been out in public.
The cop wouldn’t have been injured if citizens had been voting for more diligent social policy that penalized losers, and subsidized those engaged in constructive participation and fair work.
Of course, American leadership and economics have betrayed American workers for generations, it’s true.
and we ship in foreign workers rather than develop our own people, but that’s another convo and a worldwide problem no doubt.
-Happy spring

Agree 💯 with everything you write except for the “inhospitable labor camp”. There’s no reason the labor camp can not be a safe, hospitable (albeit Spartan) place.

All these comments on this and that? I’m trying to figure out how she launched a 8lb. Football size rock at the officers face? And the officer couldn’t help but getting hit?
